That's the one! I guess, in that case, the vanishing trailer seemed to have been caused by a modified exe, which means that the original version of the game was not at fault. So even though the user had in fact bought the game, he was unknowingly using a 'cracked' exe.

Therefore Max is right: there has only ever been one case so far... due to a broken CPU.

@ Reef, I think it is safe to say that Max spotted something in the log file that suggests that it is almost certain that the log file comes from a cracked exe. I imagine that just because there is an 's' at the end of the version number, does not necessarily prove that the user is, in fact, using Steam. It could just be the way the cracked exe works. The user has been given the option to contact support directly.

Exactly. But by saying that was caused by a modified .exe, it follows that a lot of people might have that problem. As I stated in the 'Johan thread', I've seen mods that consists of .exe and .dll files. I would never install those, but a lot of people might have - thus risking to be victims of the 'vanishing trailer' problem.
