Trailer is too low

#1 Post by airbus_sai » 19 Sep 2013 19:30

Generic white long trailer without painting (it can carry Electronics) is too low for the Scania 4x2 (and probably others). I noticed it when I backed to it, and rear wheel cover went through trailer. Even after attaching the trailer stays at the same height. Screenshots below.

known since 1.2.5.1. Got the same with Volvo FH16 or the Car-Trailer.

Everything will be okay in the end, and if it`s not okay, it`s not the end.

Some trailers sit to high and don't touch the fifth wheel. The timber trailer doesn't touch the fifth wheel of my volvo.

SCS soft needs to align the fifth wheel height of all it's trucks and trailers.

Background: when you buy a new truck (in real life), you can choose a fifth wheel height between 91cm and 1m 45cm, depending on the kind of jobs you do. For road transport, a standard fifth wheel height is somewhere between 1m 5cm and 1m 10cm. On construction and timber trucks, this can be 1m 25cm and even higher.

Technical background:
  • road trucks do often have 315/70 tyres on the drive axle
    construction trucks have 315/80 tyres

I hope this bug will finally get fixed now as well as the rear fenders on the Volvo truck. They are too high and collide with some trailers. Both have already been reported numerous times.
