Same here. I refuse to do World of Trucks jobs because most of the roads I drive on allow trucks to go faster than 65, and as the owner of my truck I feel that it is not necessary for me to be limited at 65.

Indeed. Especially since it appears that owners-operators are free to spec their trucks without governors. I think it's time to open up discussion on this issue.

In the US, owners are free to remove their governors. In Europe, it seems they legally are not.
As such, this would only apply to ATS.

I'm not asking for it to be removed. Not at all. That will never happen due to how SCS sees WoTr and its future. But if higher limiters are an option, I would like them to consider that.

It wouldn't make much difference to me as I play with the speed governor regardless if I'm doing a WoTr contract or not. I don't drive faster than 60 MPH in ATS, but I can see how some people would want to have the governor set higher than 65 MPH. I honestly think that SCS should add a console command or a slider in the settings to adjust the speed governor. I'd love to lower mine to 60 MPH. And that's realism; people can choose the speed that they drive. Not every car and truck out on the Interstate is going to drive the same speed.

@supersobes For offline use you can mod the governor speed. ;)

@Mohegan13 With 90% of my loads being WoTr contracts these days, that wouldn't really make much difference. ;)

I agree!
While I think it should be optional to just remove it (because we as owners legally get that choice in America), I can understand why SCS wouldn't. However, having options to set it to any speed up to, say 80mph, would be fantastic!
Of course, if you are in a state with a lower limit and are speeding, then you get a ticket (maybe they could even set it up so that if you get a ticket on a World of Trucks job, you automatically loose that job and have to take X amount of offline jobs without a ticket before you can take World of Trucks jobs, to simulate the companies in World of Trucks not trusting you with their cargo for a while).

80 mph limiter would make no sense at all, instead of set it that high you could better remove the limiter altogether. And who the heck would drive faster than 80 mph with a truck anyway?

70 mph should be fine if that's the highest usual limiter speed.
I have approximate knowledge of many things

It does make sense, as trucks often do go 80 in America. It has already been said why it wouldn't be removed entirely.
