WoT after 7 years

#1 Post by d4nn » 21 Jan 2020 22:02

There's a thing that still bugs me. After 7 of it's "Alpha" launch, World of Trucks in still on alpha, which is used for projects on very early development.
This should get changed to Beta or even just WoT, as there's been enough time and it's odd to still see "Alpha" on it.

We need multiplayer :(
That will prob didnt happen soon
What about such dailys :
Every day there is 1 same for everybody route for example Paris-Helsinki.
Every1 can take part in it and he get score.
Score is determined by multiple factors like:
time spend, fuel consumed, fines commited, damages to truck and cargo. Realistic fuel on, fines on, and some other options eventually.
That way you need to drive not to slow, economic way and also no damage and follow all rules.
End of the day you get ranking where did you placed, no rewards tho :P
Tkae me 5min to post it so prob that will need more improvements but could be nice imo

This thread gives you the reason it is still in Alpha:
It is not completed. They are still making changes to it and it may or may not be completely overhauled by the time they are "done" with it.
They might work it into a multilayer server network. They might use it for daily/weekly events.
Right now it is simply used for seasonal events, but that is far from what it was originally imagined to be. As such, the steps to bring it into the desired direction could lead to massive changes. Because of this, it is still listed as Alpha.
Beta is for working out major bugs in post-development just prior to release.

I don't mind it. I practically ignore its existence.

Good question. Let's get some points:

1- If the WoT is in Alpha, when leave it will we have the achievements and statistics in '0' again??
2- It is a great tool to unite the community, it could have a world ranking, monthly, weekly, by country, mileage, fuel consumed and etc.
3- I always wondered about this Alpha, I also think this 'time' for development is very 'strange'
4- There could be a tool to manage companies, hire drivers (real players) to buy trailers and trucks for a specific work, route etc...
5- There are several ideas that I have and I imagine that would give a life of 'logistics' to the game if they were implemented...

In short, the game is a amazing simulator and I like WoT because the challenges, editor's pic and events, but, i think they miss a logistical tool in this game, and WoT its a perfect 'manager' for start this real logistic to 'our game world'.

1. No they won't reset statistics when they move it out of Alpha.
