Towing DLC

#1 Post by Aj15824 » 27 Jan 2018 01:08

Great ideas make a towing dlc where people can run towing company's on ats and ets so instead of pushing a button to jump to repair shop you have to pay a towing company to come tow or upright your truck or whatever needs done and that's how they make money on the games

Good morning a happy new year, to you and your family, and your country that has a lot of prosperity, work, and peace.

Now let's get to the topic: It's really interesting to have self-rescue trucks available for our trucks when they have problems or collisions with a certain degree of damage.
They can only reach the workshop via the self-rescue truck.
There are different types of trucks that do this service in United States of America, and also in European countries.
Plus there are even truck self-rescue trucks for different types of problems.
I will try to contribute as follows:

A young man has already created a game MOD for the American Truck Simulator in which the player performs by rescuing crashed trucks.
This is the MOD video type.
It should be basic to the concept of something like "DLC RESCUE TRUCKS".

SCS Software should look fondly, to make a DLC exclusively with this idea below the MOF.
Always when I imagine creating a DLC about rescuing trucks in the game.
I always remember this MOD that was created for GTA 5, it is realistic.
But he's very realistic, this third person concept is GREAT, and with the basic procedures for rescuing a truck.

This video should be very well appreciated by the SCS Software team when thinking about developing this great idea, which is a truck rescue DLC.
That would have a huge impact on the construction of World Truck Simulator.

There are several ideas that can be created to complement the main games of Euro Truck 2 or American Truck Simulator, and one of those great complements is the rescue of trucks and cargo.
I have just posted a few videos just to show you the differences that exist between countries regarding the equipment to be used when there are accidents.
Interesting and there should be, at some point and this big news.

I won't comment on the GTAV videos since it's a completely different game engine compared to Prism3D.

However, the first ATS video is just a mod trailer with a different load, which of course is within the realm of possibilities to have something like that in the game so long as cargo isn't using licensed material. There was a scrapper model that's shown in one of the images for the heavy cargo DLC that SCS completely changed the model from in the game to avoid copyright and patent issues in the future.

The second video isn't even mod, just an overlay of the game's dev camera. The game is centered around truck driving, not flying a helo.

A DLC for towing might be feasible, but that would require getting new licenses and tow vehicles are usually custom-made built off a chassis of whatever vehicle the purchaser wants. I doubt any of them come stock from the factory of Peterbilt, Kenworth, MACK, etc... Best bet for anything on those is the use of mods, because it is widely speculated that damaged models of the vehicles are prohibited by contract terms in order to use the brands within the game itself.

@Twinshadow, there would be no license problem with the towing systems. It's like the trailers, as while SCS models one on their own, they can put it freely into the game.

What it would require a license indeed, would be the rigid truck where the towing system will be mounted. And, technically speaking, A tower and it's towed broken-down truck will have a physical behavior similar to a regular rigid truck towing a drawbar trailer (like the ones on doubles).

So, a towing truck with towing "missions" could be something feasible for the game once we get rigid trucks, if SCS wants to.

And again, licenses come into play with the trucks because I don't believe they come stock from the factory, but at the same time, they still must obtain the rights to use the branding on the additional chassis. If the legal stuff can't be squared away, this will never come. US manufacturers are a pain in the *bleep* to deal with. This would mostly only apply to the driveable trucks as opposed to something that is strictly AI-only.

I made a suggestion elsewhere in regards to having more random events that involved heavy wreckers. However, it gets real tricky when trucks are involved or something. With trailers this isn't a huge deal, or with AI cars or small box vans or trucks.

Since SCS wants to have the brands as prominent as possible, unbranded tow vehicles for driving will not happen again like in the early days of 18 WoS or early in the development of Euro Truck Sim 2.

As I said @TwinShadow, the license problem is for the rigid chassis. It will be the same license that at some point SCS would like to obtain to add into the game any other kind of truck that will be rigid, not a semi tractor.

Because yes, the truck come as an "empty" chassis out of the (Peterbilt, Mack, whatever) factory. Then the truck goes to the company that integrates the towing deck (that sometimes it's the same that manufactures it, and sometimes not). But regarding licensing issues, if SCS designs it's 3D model of a towing deck that doesn't exist in reality, they will have no problem at all like they have no problem with the standard fake-brand trailers.

So, the day SCS will add rigids to their games, they will have no restrains other than manpower to add towing trucks too.

On the topic there are some mods in ETS2 that allow for this attractive, realistic and diverse gameplay.
Tow trucks, after all, are part of the routine of semi-trailer truckers as well.
Because they are at real risk of accidents as well as mechanical problems.
They need to be squeaked for mechanics.

There are so many things that can be done to make SCS games increasingly attractive and a DLC in this sense would be a big draw.

There are "moderators" who find it better to censor polls .... "even more so if such polls belie myths that propagate the" Vatican has no charge. "Why hatred of the accumulation of information? Because Istanbul with mosques may be in the game and Vatican Why is the Gandolfo Castle farm loaded with: inputs, tractor, implements, hay can't be? Why Rome may be incomplete, but not Istanbul?

And ... yes, truck trailers and simulator games are about portraying reality.

And if you continue this GTA V step with your modellers, you might arouse that game company to have a more attractive truck game, as there are more interaction items.
From the trucker avatar, real handling actions with objects like trailer and loads, more realistic accidents and so on.

Players want realism, compelling content.
Can modelers in ETS 2 do what prevents SCS? "Politically correct" on the left, is that, as a business ideology in games? No bird transport, no pig transport, no towing, no trucker avatar, no towing ... is that it?

Cutting out cool stuff there could be! Truck simulation that excludes trucks, countries ... weird?

I close the contribution left images of a mod that was performed by someone, and made the tow truck .... because it is "the world of trucks, is a little bigger than we have".

This American shows a very interesting equipment which is a removable Auto Winch for trucks.
Allowing the truck driver / entrepreneur who owns a small fleet of trucks to help his own fleet, if necessary saving money, with service from companies and tow trucks

If SCS can get the necessary licenses for rigid trucks in ATS, they would be able to add towing vehicles without issue. The only thing a brand has the rights to is the chassis itself. What is on the back, be it a box, a crane, a bed, or nothing, is beyond their legal ownership. If SCS can get the license for these types of trucks, they will be able to make box trucks, flatbed towers, cranes, etc.

A towing pack would be interesting, but I am mainly looking forward to simple box trucks.
