[FYI] For the developers regarding Vulkan on macOS...

I'm not sure if you have seen this, but the folks over at KronosGroup have developed a Vulkan API layer to work on top of Metal for macOS.

From their GitHub repo description:
MoltenVK is an implementation of the high-performance, industry-standard Vulkan graphics and compute API, that runs on Apple's Metal graphics framework, bringing Vulkan compatibility to iOS and macOS.

If you're considering implementing Vulkan, this will probably help, instead of creating any Metal code just for macOS.

Update: On March 7, 2018 the new Vulkan 1.1 API Specification was released by KronosGroup.

I hope that after OpenGL is deprecated that SCS will develop an alternative for Mac users. I read about this this morning and it seems devastating for Mac gaming.

Necro thread bump lol...anyone here any more on this from the developers? I would love to see ATS (and ETS) add Vulkan or Metal support.

There's been no open discussions about it that I've seen. But I don't really go onto these forums much anymore. Implementing a graphics API is quite a monumental undertaking sometimes.
