[REWORK] Wyoming rework tips (originally pre-research)
Re: Wyoming pre-research tips
That sounds like the sort of thing that would get prohibitively expensive (and perhaps not feasible for any amount of money) incredibly fast in just about any state except for Wyoming. Maybe some of the other super desolate states, tops.
Re: Wyoming pre-research tips
I've actually found some grade crossings in Wyoming, so not all crossings are done over or under the tracks. For example, here's US 85 in Hawk Springs, here's the 85 again east of Yoder, and here's WY 151 in La Grange.

Furthermore, I consider that I-80 across Nevada must be redone next.

I have not looked thru this thread but I just came up on this coal mine video for Wyoming. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1dsxtCmUvrc, claiming to be the world's largest. If it has been posted or mentioned, apologizes.

Note that Wyoming is a state that uses the font Clearview on new signs, rather than FHWA Series Fonts/Highway Gothic. FHWA is synonymous with Highway Gothic.

Here is a comparison. But, normally, in practice, shield numbers are always in FHWA and are rarely ever replaced with clearview.

This map shows which states use clearview.

You're right! There's also one near downtown Cheyenne I drove over a few weeks ago. Along I-25 just north of Douglas is some roadside "art" depicting a jackalope. This mythical creature is a jackrabbit with antlers. Nobody in Converse county will directly come out and say that they don't exist...

Re: Wyoming pre-research tips
In case it hasn't been mentioned elsewhere in this topic so far (I couldn't find it while searching for would-be posts on the topic), I-180 in Wyoming is a weird case of an Interstate having traffic lights along its length, as seen here: https://www.google.com/maps/@41.1270774 ... 312!8i6656
This Wikipedia article may be a useful starting point for the research team to find other Interstate system anomalies, including the section that first taught me about I-180 in Wyoming: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_g ... fic_lights

Wyoming as a lot of people know gets ridiculously windy a lot. One thing that could be added is occasional blowing dust across the road, like seen in this video: https://youtu.be/MxHacUl4aog?t=17

@index. Nice. We need a particle system for that though. I keep bringing it up a lot. Some request wind get in as well. I think it would be hard to simulate that but that's just my opinion. Not only that but could have an affect on driving that many may not like. Now what can work, is wind simulated to blow dust, leaves, debris, etc. But I am afraid that if SCS gives us that, people will say its not realistic because the truck doesn't get pushed by wind.
Currently there are tumbleweeds and a few spots on the map that has some what of a fog wave and a dust wave. They are not very good looking though but they were done with dx9 so no biggie. I am just looking forward in a more natural and realistic way to get environment interaction from the elements. We can't have a better weather system we get a better render = dx11 or better. Check. Next up, get a real particle system going. Better rain, fog, mist, dust. From that, comes seasons. There is always a process to go thru with SCS games to get us to that next level of immersion.
