NORTH DAKOTA

North Dakota uses both front & rear license plates

This is the North Dakota Current Standard license plate design:
[ external image ]
It follows a 123 ABC format

This is the North Dakota Apportioned Truck license plate design:
[ external image ]
It follows a 12345P format. The trailer design is the same, but it says APP TRLR along the left side and ends in a "T"
I was unable to find the current version of the trailer plate anywhere. If someone is able to locate it, I'd really love to have the photo.

Emergency Vehicles:

This is the North Dakota Highway Patrol license plate design:
[ external image ]
It begins with HP and is followed by the unit number.

This is the North Dakota Municipal Police license plate design:
[ external image ]
It looks the same as the HP version, but it always seems to say POLICE.

This is the North Dakota Official Vehicle license plate design:
[ external image ]
It follows a G12345 format.

I've unfortunately been unable to find an apportioned trailer plate from recent years. Most online seem to be from the 60's to the 80's. Again, any help locating a current version would be great!

There are many different versions of municipal plates, they tend to be a color gradient moving to white at the top, with the location of registration on the top and the type of organization along the bottom. The serial format varies wildly. These should be found specifically on a case-by-case basis:
