Delineators

#1 Post by HoralkaEU » 13 Feb 2014 17:47

Delineators are sometimes on wrong side. What I mean is, that the ones with orange reflectors should be on the right side, and the white one on left (incoming traffic) side. In game, is mostly opposite, sometimes its good, but mostly no.

It's everywhere, and depends on the type of the road. Only few small (one line) road types have it correctly. And I'm pretty sure most of the highway road types have it wrong.

That's a bit strange... Are you using any mods?
Post coordinates for a few locations. No need for images, just the text from bugs.txt
Thx

Okay, I guess it will take some time. Btw, I only use ProMods. But I remember this bug was there even in vanilla game (at least for me)

Thank you.
Actually, I am using a mod that makes these things illuminate (because reflective effects are not supported) and they are very obvious... and I haven't seen any places where they are reversed...

I too use that mod! But right now I'm only trying to use mods that modify the maps... Plus SiSLs flare

I haven't had too much time right now, only a few trips, and this is in Germany (I think it was Germany, few km's after Austria border. This area should not be affected in any map mod I use (promods and Italy mod)

I really think it's something in few prefabs...

And here, it's little bit weird too

Plus, I also encountered this in Italy mod, so I don't know if you want coordinates from it too

If you're using mods, then these can't be bugs with the game.
Check again without any map mods installed.

This is simply how those posts look in Germany. In other words, in the German part of the SCS map, it is more or less correct like it is. No different colors on the sides are used. Reflectors all silver, posts in white with a black ribbon.

Only real difference is: near intersections, the real-world German reflectors are yellow, indicating the situation. But the way the delineators are placed on the map, this would be difficult to achieve in the map editor. So I can live with that minor inconsistency.

OK, just checked...

The pillars from the first location have only one white reflective element, facing the driver. The other side has no element. It looks like it's in Germany, indeed. And this is a picture showcasing such a pillar (I hope they allow hot linking), on the actual Deutsche Autobahn (these are the exact terms I used to google for the image)

It looks quite similar to the one in game.

The ones in the second picture look OK to me.. though a bit too many, I might say.

What I can say is that SCS spent a lot of time and efforts documenting these things. And, while there are cases where errors appear, the game should be quite close to reality.

Cheers
