Failed to allocate vertex buffer [MOD]
Re: Failed to allocate vertex buffer [MOD]
Yeah I forgot to say that yesterday I run the 4.7 TSM Map, sorry. But it seems that whatever I mod use the game will crash because everytime is something wrong.
So the main problem why is the ProMod crashing is my 32 bit system and not enough memory.
But what about TSM Map? - it's the problem with mod or again with my hardware?

Re: Failed to allocate vertex buffer [MOD]
As previously stated, your system could use more RAM. That's one thing.
Also, if your mods were up-to-date, the loading performance would seriously improve. Also, newer models, take less memory to load - SCS is continuously working on optimizing their models, but modders seem to ignore a lot of these aspects. Having a huge map like TSM isn't an issue, in itself, but if you couple it with several old mods, some high poly trucks and outdated prefabs, you might come to the critical combination which, on a low RAM system, can lead to crashes.
Suggestion is:

Suggestion is:
- keep only the mods you absolutely want
- try updating them to the latest version, to avoid load warnings and errors
- try not to combine too many mods, at once. I created several profiles, which combine various mods. If I activate a map mod, I keep the modded trucks at minimum. If I want more modded trucks, I try using only the vanilla map etc. Also, I made several homedir folders, one for each combination of mods, and I only keep the mods I use, with that specific profile. Even if I have twice the RAM and run o a 64bit system
Retired, but still loving it.
Re: Failed to allocate vertex buffer [MOD]
But the thing is that I use only Map mod (TSM 4.7 or ProMod 1.62) and nothing else and I know those are the latest versions compatible with 1.9.22 ver of the game.
What does you mean saying that my system could use more RAM?

Re: Failed to allocate vertex buffer [MOD]
more RAM would make sense only with upgrade to some 64bit system together. 32bit windows cannot use more than 4GB and similarly cannot give to application more than 2GB (or 3 eventually).
and as i did not checked the aforementioned mods it's quite possible that the game crashes sometimes due to memory (huge data in mod) a sometimes due to invalid data (compatible does not mean correct). you can see it in log both. so fixing the mod(s) could help and upgrading computer could help the other half.

Nobody can tell you anything about it. Those who know about it aren't allowed to talk. And those who talk know nothing.
Re: Failed to allocate vertex buffer [MOD]
Fixing the mods?
Re: Failed to allocate vertex buffer [MOD]
literally speaking, requires some knowledge.
but it could also mean: get rid of the bad ones

Re: Failed to allocate vertex buffer [MOD]
Start the game with minicon and look to vm parameter. When it comes to 3900Mb - game crashes.befsztyk wrote:But what about TSM Map? - it's the problem with mod or again with my hardware?
Re: Failed to allocate vertex buffer [MOD]
Thanks for the feedback Max.
I have a good and new rig here. 64 bit system and 8 gb RAM DDR3 1600.

Re: Failed to allocate vertex buffer [MOD]
in befsztyk's case (OS, RAM), the game crashes shortly after vm 1900 is reached (by the log).supric wrote:Start the game with minicon and look to vm parameter. When it comes to 3900Mb - game crashes.

Re: Failed to allocate vertex buffer [MOD]
So this is problem which in my case can be solved somehow or I should just give up because it's my weak hardware fault?
