Failed to allocate vertex buffer [MOD]

Hi, I have 1.9.22 Gold Bundle with Promod 1.62 and Melhorias Gráficas Reais V 5.0 (I know that both are compatible)

The game often crash to the desktop with the same line in game log - Failed to allocate vertex buffer

I read on this forum that when this is happening, then shoud set mm_pool_size from 400 to 800 - I have 4 Gb RAM, Core 2 Duo 3Ghz, GeForce 9800 GT, Win 8.1 32 bit
So i set 400, 600, 800 and it doesn't help.
Someone wrote that since ver 1.8 it shoudn't set this parameter so I don't know what shoud I do to eliminate this problem.

Earlier i run the "clean" game without Promod and everything was OK so I know that probably the Promod is problemative, so I go with the topic to the Promod forum but there told me that I shoud search here for help.

most probably the game went out of memory. this is typically caused by amount of additional data in mods.
increasing of mm pool can now only worsen the problem.

could you, please, post complete game log and game crash?

I had the same problem few days ago Max.
I had mm_pool 2000 here. So I lowered to 1200 and dont crashed anymore. But I need more tests...

lower it back to 400 (remove that param from command line).
its not needed anymore and just complicates memory management.

Thanks Max. I back to normal and I will check this week.
I am using TSM map. Do you think I will have no problem with that?

Max, do you think there is perhaps now a case to remove -mm_pool_size entirely from the list of switches supported by ETS2? It seems to cause more problems than it solves, now that it's redundant, due to players having this option there from legacy days, and not understanding the impact today.
If the function itself is still needed by dev, you could rename it (and then not publicly release the new switch name).

I thought that it is graphic configuration problem so i disabled V-synth, HDR, antialiasing and colour depth but I've got Visual C++ Runtime Error

i do not know how greedy is TSM map for resources, but 400MB of resource memory pool should be enough for almost anything. if you will have problems with resource memory crashes and/or slow game due to resource caching slight increase may help. but any memory pool increase costs game memory for other things. for example, its almost suicide to increase mm pool on 32bit system.

param is still used and still has its original meaning - resource memory pool. what was changed (1.8?) is more frequent cleanup of the pool to prevent fragmentation. but there are still mods that may profit from changes. and honestly, setting it to 2GB was strange idea even before.
we cannot be responsible if some people doing anything not-so-smart things with game files and settings. nor we want to invest additional for solving similar problems as its not so easy always. in addition we have to be backwards compatible in all meanings otherwise it will break even more.
if you will see someone is misusing memory pool, just tell him. the word will spread itself.

error and warnings in this log are bugs in mods you are using (mainly old formatted data and prefab with wrong ai-lanes). note also, that this is different problem that your memory crash you reported before.
