Since the new AI in 1.10, it seems we must allow AI to move in front of us if it is alongside. The AI seem to be totally unaware of our presence, and will just move into our lane whatever
The idea of 'zip-merging' is that you don't drive alongside other vehicles when you are close to the merging point. If an AI vehicle is closer to the merging point than your vehicle (even just a little closer), it assumes that you let him drive ahead of you. If this wasn't your case and you still think it is a bug, could you post a video reproducing it, please? We need it to successfully reproduce and fix it.
GearJammer55 wrote:Another situation is when changing lanes on major roads (moving to the left)
Again, a video would help us locating the bug. We need to see the exact situations when this occurs (e.g. how far the vehicle was, how fast did it drive...) If a vehicle drives much faster than you, it is possible that it doesn't slow down even if it sees you want to change lane (just like in real life). Of course it can be a bug and that is why we need to see exactly how it happend

Well surely this would still be wrong behaviour anyway, since the traffic already in the lane would still have right of way, no matter whether the AI is slightly ahead in the other lane?
It should be more than it's own length fully ahead of the vehicle in the main lane before it considers itself as able to move into the main lane.

No problem mjack. I hadn't considered these situations 'bugs' as such, but more a need of a little 'fine-tuning' ;) . I feel the new zip-merging scenario in the game is realistic, rather than before where the AI would just queue up in the exit lane. The problem is really one of collision detection, which also applies to my second example: most times the AI will react to your blinkers and slow down to allow you to move in front, especially when exiting a gas station for example. And I agree with jarvic79, the AI shouldn't try to move into a space that isn't there :) .
However, I'll try to reproduce the two points I made, and post videos. My project for today........

Today I done one long distance delivery and AI hit me 3 times on this trip with absolutely no reason.
AI problem isn't only in roundabouts.
Agreed.

No idea if it is a bug but right now (patch 1.11.0.11) one truck crashed into me while driving trough one of the the higway exits, other truck came from the highway, did not stop at crossing (or maybe he did, not sure) and crashed into me while i was getting by (was 30-40 meters ahead of the "crossing" while driving 70-80km/h....usually the AI does stops and wait for one to drive by)

And later at one of the same prefabs (near Milano or so) more or less the same happend (only that i was coming from the other side and the truck did not want to drive onto my lane) and it looked like the truck did not stop at the stopline of the exits as he should

OK, 2 video examples (pay attention to the mirror view):
The first shows the zip merge problem (Europoort). I slowed down to allow the car in the merge lane to move in front of me, but the car following did not stop and wait for me to pass, it just slammed into my side  .
The second one is an example of AI seemingly unaware of our presence when we're changing lanes.

Very true, and some of the car drivers don't seem to know how to use the brake pedal :? . Plus AI trucks still accelerate away from traffic lights like F1 cars :x
