[READ BEFORE POSTING AI BUGS] AI bugs megathread.
Re: [READ BEFORE POSTING AI BUGS] AI bugs megathread.
Dorin, this is one of those "really hard to reproduce" AI bugs.
I watched that segment of road for at least 30 minutes (while doing other things IRL of course) and i had one gridlock in that time. A truck with trailer that got hit by another truck without trailer.
The leading truck's cabin kept rotating to it's right and eventually got stuck in a ~120 degree rotation.
My observations concluded that AI vehicles simply doesn't brake hard enough or in time to stop for the vehicle in front of it. Bumping the stopped vehicle in front happens quite regularly.
It's when this bumping never stops that these issues arise.
In Dorin's video you can see that the truck in front got stuck in the same manner, and the van behind it was sinking.
I would suspect the van hit the truck in front, then tried to reverse but when doing so it clipped the terrain. As it no longer was floating on top of the terrain it sunk further and further into the terrain (collision detection stuff) and would eventually fall off the world.
The leading truck however would be stuck like that forever.

On extended hiatus.

Hello!!!
Another bug from me. AI just blocking the intersection and when I pressed shift+f11 and then report to SCS the red van jumped few meters into sky and landed and fence.

wat da hell?
These AI flipouts are crazy as hell... do we really want this bug fixed?
It is like the carmageddon mod for GTA IV

Re: [READ BEFORE POSTING AI BUGS] AI bugs megathread.
All the AI mayhem is probably due them being subjected to rigid body physics. Which can get very interesting when calculting forces. I've had some weird things going on when plowing into AI cars as well.

Maybe "crazy physics" checkbox should be added to options?Centrino2 wrote:These AI flipouts are crazy as hell... do we really want this bug fixed?

Those prefabs LDriver posted screenshots of are the ones that always causes AI-AI accidents. Here are a couple of examples (didn't think about coordinates back then when I took the screenies ):
The first one is curious though (were's the truck ) Click on pics to enlarge
