Well, I have no problem saying it again, if you ask me it's not a big deal.
What is worst case scenario here?, You are not prevented from anything at all, every option is open.
In WCS you drive the shortcut, perhaps even get some petrol loaded while your there, maybe even take a rest.
Always, like IRL, don't trust your GPS more than to an degree where you still, do not look like a fool.
But yes, it would of course be better if the GPS could be trusted in this case.

Re: GPS navigation route error [KNOWN]
I think what the GPS is doing is here, is that it calculated the quickest way to get to the destination, but the way the fuel station is built means that it is slightly faster (If you don't stop) than the motorway. One fix could be to rebuild the fuel station maybe a bit further down or something to make the motorway the quicker way...

Why so radical, that would mean a lot of work.MinecraftMarioGuy53 wrote:(...) One fix could be to rebuild the fuel station maybe a bit further down or something to make the motorway the quicker way...
I don't know if the navigator's algorithm is only based on distance, but if it also supports time needed and thus speed limits, why not use that? if I'm not mistaken there is already a 30 km/h (or mph?) limit in there, that should make it time expensive enough.
The keyword to be used here is "weighted graphs".
Oh and while we are at it, it's funny how the navigator often zigzags through the street grid of a city (or a similar overland road layout) seemingly following the beeline, instead of choosing a smoother route. Most of the time, running straight to the end then turning once is faster because you don't have to slow down and accelerate again and again.

Wouldn't it be great if we could plot our own route!!!

Wouldn't it be great if we could all just live with these minor little things that don't really matter? All this is about is whether to go through or past a gas station! Now that is a true "break out the cheese" emergency. [ external image ]
Re: GPS navigation route error [KNOWN]
@Axel Slingerhand: I must respond to your reply now.
That came out rather belittling. While it may not matter to YOU, it DOES matter to some. Yes it may be a detail, and yes SCS may not care to do anything about it, but details can quickly become game breaking experiences for the people that do care about such details. I would suggest to keep that in mind when you deal with such matters.*snip* these minor little things that don't really matter *snip*
Re: GPS navigation route error [KNOWN]
SCS already has penalty roads. That is, there's a navigation penalty for taking that road.
They could just introduce a severe GPS penalty for going through these places.

On extended hiatus.
Re: GPS navigation route error [KNOWN]
its bit more complicated than that.
but fixing navigation is still on our todo list.

Nobody can tell you anything about it. Those who know about it aren't allowed to talk. And those who talk know nothing.
