GPS navigation route error [KNOWN]
GPS navigation route error [KNOWN]
Tonight I was doing an Urgent Explosives delivery from Liverpool - Glasgow. Just outside Carlisle, the navigation system took me through a set of services, instead of following the motorway.

This is my global apology to everyone I have probably offended at some point. Sorry for being an ass, no personal offence is ever intended.

Re: GPS navigation route error
This will not be fixed, it has been around and reported since version 1.

Re: GPS navigation route error [KNOWN]
Why won't it get fixed? I know it's been in the game for ages, but why hasn't it been fixed?
Re: GPS navigation route error [KNOWN]
because it needs to remake some core things (navigation algorithm and navigation data format) that will affect literally everything.
Nobody can tell you anything about it. Those who know about it aren't allowed to talk. And those who talk know nothing.

It's strange because I've only ever saw this in the UK... I've never seen it anywhere else

This will also only happen 2 or 3 places in whole map. No big deal actually.. (If you ask me).

Re: GPS navigation route error [KNOWN]
It shouldn't happen in any places in the map. It's a bug, therefore it's a big deal to anyone that is affected by it.... (and I don't need to ask anyone to know that, call it game developer's insight)Flemming V wrote:This will also only happen 2 or 3 places in whole map. No big deal actually.. (If you ask me).
If there was a map error that prevented you getting into a single hotel, would that not be a big deal, because there are other hotels? A bug that affects one person might not be a big deal. A bug that affects everyone, is a big deal.
Why on earth would it need everything re-writing? The road has obviously been tagged as the wrong type of road, and the navigation system has picked it up as a shortest route option. A simple map-data change is required, nothing more. If this is anything more than a 30 minute fix, I'd be shocked.Max wrote:because it needs to remake some core things (navigation algorithm and navigation data format) that will affect literally everything.
