Blender New Update

#1 Post by serobaskan44 » 04 Jun 2021 14:18

There was an update to the blender program yesterday, after installing the update, I can't find the Scs blender tools in the plugins section. I downloaded the new version of blender tools from scs wiki, but I still can't import the tools into the program. :?: My projects are unfinished, is there anyone who can help? :(

@serobaskan44 Not recommended for the new version of Blender. You should stay on version 2.92.0!

Everything will be okay in the end, and if it`s not okay, it`s not the end.

I have no problem on 2.93.

When you first open blender after an update you have the option to keep your previous settings but I'm not sure if you can make it pop up again.

Just rename 2.92 to 2.93 in %appdata%.

Thank you very much everyone, I solved the problem, the plugins are working fine now.

@tobrago I'm using the Steam version of Blender, updates are automatic. Also I couldn't understand why I had to stay at 2.92.

BT 2.1 is made for Blender 2.9, doesnt matter if it is 2.91, 2.92 or 2.93 but 2.93 had a bug in it that caused crashes, but it should have been fixed by now i assume if 2.93 is now LTS

@serobaskan44 Okay but you didn't write that it was a Steam version. I haven't tried the new version of Blender.

@FierbetoN This means that Blender Tools and Conversion Tools works with the newer version of Blender?

After looking at the changelog and using it, I don't see why they wouldn't work. Conversion tools are not related to Blender version.

The new version of BT has not caused any crashes so far, it works just fine. I just get a warning when exporting, I looked through all the tabs and all the settings but couldn't find it.

@serobaskan44 That's because some models use vertex color values bigger than 0.5 (grey). Since 1.40 iirc there is a cap. Take a look into the scs tools menu, there must be an option to normalize all vertex colors to .5.
