generic_s issue

#1 Post by Destiny » 18 Jun 2017 14:57

Can someone help me with this :?
I keep getting a error in my mod.

<ERROR> [fs] Failed to open file "/material/environment/generic_s.tobj" in the read_only mode.

I cant find a solution any where?

"Failed to open file blah blah blah in the read_only mode" usually means the file isn't present. Simply forget about the "in the read_only mode" part, that's an unimportant technicality.

"/material/environment/generic_s.tobj" is not part of the base. But your mod apparently needs it, because a material file is set up like this.

There is a "/material/environment/generic_s.dds", in the base. Which is used by several *_reflection.tobj files, in the same directory. Maybe your mod should use one of these, instead.

"generic_s.tobj" is a tobj file used by ingame materials in generated reflections. It's placed in base.scs archive. So, it looks like your mod is calling for a reflection material. You either have to add the generic_s.tobj (and the .dds texture to which it's pointing) to your mod, or use an external "sibling base" folder.

Excuse me, but if it was in the base, why adding it? :D
