Adding missing wheel accessory nodes on trailer

#1 Post by DubbelDraaiDeur » 29 Jul 2020 14:37

As the titel states, I have no accessory nodes for the wheels and rims on the trailer I'm working on in Blender.
I would really like to add those nodes, but after long searching, I was unable to find an anwser on how to.
I tried adding the nodes myself in Blender, didn't work at all.
Compared other mods that have the nodes active, but even in Blender, it seems theres no nodes present for wheels or rims.
So I'm really confused atm..

However, I found this tread, but I still can't figure out what I need to do here..

because you dont need to, you just add the wheel node and the rest (tire, rim, nuts, hub, cover) will be added by the game

So since my trailer is not showing the nodes in the configuration menu for the trailer in game, there must be something else that's going wrong?
Something wrongly named in sii files?
Are my wheels in blender wrongly named?
Wheel nodes in Blender (all 14 of them) are all called wheel_f_xx where xx is a value from 00 to 13

For trailers that don't have steerable axles, those should all be named "wheel_r_xx" as they are rear wheels.

The thing is, they are all steered low loader axles..
So if I understand correctly, I'll have to wait for scs to add lowloaders to ownable system, so the nodes show up in configuration for steered axles? Or is there a workaround for this?
Because actually I never found a low loader mod that had those accessory nodes in configuration menu ingame..

this is obsolete since many updates, steerable axles are defined via def files and not model

trailer wheels are rear wheels and will be defined as such with wheel_r and the def file will tel if the axle is steerable or not

that the nods are missing has a different meaning, does your trailer have a rear bumper ? if not create one, some people had the same problem, i think, and this solved it

Yes, it does have a rear bumper slot with a few rear bumpers. (The fix you are talking about, I found as well, and linked it in the OP)

Well, I kinda fixed it.
Went into Blender and changed all the wheel nodes names from wheel_f_xx to wheel_r_xx
Changed the sii files - accessory_rim_data from "doll_disc.01.fdisc" to "doll_disc.01.rdisc" (inside def/vehicle/t_wheel)
same with the hub, nuts, and tire sii files
And that showed the stock tires with the nodes active. (only the 2 main nodes, tire node and disc node)

Anyway, I said 'kinda fixed it' because of 2 issues I have now
- When I lift the axles, chassis sinks through fifth wheel
UPDATE 31/07 - Fixed by changing the wheel nodes names in Blender back to front (so wheel_r_00 became wheel_r_13, wheel_r_01 became wheel_r_12 and so on and so on)
- when axles are lifted, they don't steer anymore (they supposed to steer)
Any tips on how to solve this? Is there a parameter I need to add in the chassis sii?

Liftaxles don't steer:
