Weird shading, how to solve?

#1 Post by Soundwave2142 » 16 Jan 2021 15:58

I have this shading issue and I'm not sure what am I doing wrong, because it's seems fine in Blender.

Here's the issue in the game. It's visible almost always, specially under light sources like here, being in the hanger at night.

Here's how it looks looks in blender.

Also, I'm probably better off asking at some 3D modeling forum, but while I'm here, might as well ask. Why do I get this lines on a plain surface?

While if we look at XBS 95ATI model I can't see lines whatsoever and It seems very smooth.

I'm a new to modeling and would appreciate if someone pointed me a finger into the right direction with how to solve this issues. Thank you!

Thank you, that topic helped me to figure out how to fix second issue.

1. I fixed weird roof shading (as well as weird black shadow on speakers) by Beveling edges a little (1 segment).
2. I fixed "shading lines" by applying "Weighted Normal" modifier and setting "keep sharp" checkbox.

Looks great now.
