Problem with "MAT" file

#1 Post by tobrago » 21 Oct 2021 19:34

I need help !!

When updating the mod to Steam Workshop it prints me this error.

Code: Select all

ERROR [00012] (/ets2_signs_on_your_truck_and_trailer.zip/automat/03/0321c5c2fd4c9bb4.mat): [fs] Failed to open file '/vehicle/trailer_owned/scs_flatbed/accessory/r_banner/saer_transport1.tobj' in the read_only mode.
ERROR [00002] (/ets2_signs_on_your_truck_and_trailer.zip/vehicle/trailer_owned/scs_flatbed/accessory/r_banner/saer_transport1.tobj): Unable to find .tobj file. (referenced in: /ets2_signs_on_your_truck_and_trailer.zip/automat/03/0321c5c2fd4c9bb4.mat)
Entire log file

Only the location of the texture has changed, now the texture is in a different directory.
Is there a possibility to reset the "mat" file?
When something in the material changes, then the "mat" file changes. I think it should be so.

One note, in Blender when the mod is converted it does not report an error in the game it works properly !!!

Everything will be okay in the end, and if it`s not okay, it`s not the end.

Does the saer_transport1.tobj file exist in this path:

/vehicle/trailer_owned/scs_flatbed/accessory/r_banner/ ?

The location needs to be updated as well where you have moved the texture to.

@Digital X Yes, I did update the texture path, which is why I am surprised by this error. Yes, and the "tobj" file is in a new directory! Something tells me that Blender, Blender Tools and Conversion Tools that any of them have a problem.

If you click to reset the tobj in Blender, what do you get? Also the one below the Base is missing the tobj.

@Digital X The one below is "vehicle_reflection" and it is in the main / base directory of the game.

Code: Select all

Value: "/material/environment/vehicle_reflection"
I updated the post look at the pictures!

Is it possible that it's an old mat file from before you moved the texture?
What happens if you delete the mat file from the mod?

@Madkine I don't think it's the old "mat" file. I pack the mod in a Blender with Conversion Tools. No, I haven't tried deleting old "mat" files, there are a lot of them, but maybe I'll try to delete them to see what happens. It is strange that Conversion Tools does not report an error, but I note that the mode works without any errors in the game and does not report an error in the "game.log" file. Thank you for your suggestion and help.

He's asking if the tobj is in the directory he specified, NOT in a "new" directory.
If you moved the tobj file, but never edited the mat file to read the new location, it will cause this. I believe mat files can be edited in a simple text editor, like Notepad++.
