SCS Blender Tools
Re: SCS Blender Tools
I have finished a sign, but no shadow shows up in game. What am I missing ? It took me all morning to do this.
It has dif.spec applied.

Re: SCS Blender Tools
Didn't know it needed a model. So no I haven't.
Is there documentation on how to make it?
Is there a reason the mesh itself doesn't automatically cast a shadow in game?

Re: SCS Blender Tools
Oh I see it now. I just make a cylinder and shrunk the scaling down on the Y axis, and then put that shadow model right next to the wooden post, is that good?
Can send a pic if it helps. My knowledge goes as far as making the model and giving it collision with textures.

Re: SCS Blender Tools
dont put it besides it, put it in your model, so if the post is a cylinder put the shadow cylinder inside the post but smaller in diameter
like this

this way you do it for every model that needs a shadow

Re: SCS Blender Tools
OK thanks, I parent it to the game_object still yes?
That's a probably a silly question lol. I have to click the game_object axis to export it anyway... Will see how it goes.

No joy there.

Blender: https://i.imgur.com/7eJmnFh.jpg (The cylinder inside the post is what I applied the shadow shader too.)
Am I missing something obvious here?

Re: SCS Blender Tools
Make sure the Cylinder (shadow mesh) in Blender is part of an active (SCS) part of the model. Also make sure you test the model in-game with the time set to some other than noon so that shadows are actually cast to the side and not just the bottom.
