Hi everyone,
I had a problem with my mod. I took some meshes from base game with converterpix-mwl4. I edited and exported my mod in blender succesfully. But when i want use my mod, game crashes. It writes "...model has incorrect version *****- expected version ***... for pmc, pmd and pmg". Any problem isnt seen in blender.

Model has incorrect file version
Re: Model has incorrect file version
Does anyone know? I give extra information. An User(not me) of my other mod has taken same error on 1.26 or 1.27 version of game.

Re: Model has incorrect file version
I've never used converterpix and thus don't know the process. But this is pure nonsense:
These files may have a *.pmc and a *.pmd file name extension - but they surely aren't files of these respective types. Like the error message tells, a file header of a PMC file starts with a leading "6", and a PMD with a leading "4".
No idea what happened here.
Code: Select all
00:00:33.102 : <ERROR> [model] Model collision '/vehicle/truck/trakker/truck.pmc' has incorrect file version 1936876918 - expected version 6
00:00:33.102 : <ERROR> [model] Model descriptor '/vehicle/truck/trakker/truck.pmd' is malformed.
00:00:33.102 : <ERROR> [model] Model geometry '/vehicle/truck/trakker/truck.pmg' is malformed.
00:00:33.103 : <ERROR> [model] Model descriptor '/vehicle/truck/trakker/truck.pmd' has incorrect file version 1936876918 - expected version 4
No idea what happened here.

Re: Model has incorrect file version
Might I suggest you update all the mods from other people first. You have at least one that is nearly 18months out of date. I know because it's mine.
As far as the error goes; that is not a model error that is a def file error. My guess is you have accidentally used PMD instead of PMC on the collision line which, is why you're getting the crash afterwards.

@yasin28a: I suggest that you use ConverterPIXWrapper instead of manual conversion: https://github.com/simon50keda/ConverterPIXWrapper. Also do not pack your mod manually unless you know what you are doing, use conversion helper instead: http://modding.scssoft.com/wiki/Documen ... ion_Helper
Re: Model has incorrect file version
Good idea, didn't thought of wrongful definition. But what kind of file begins with "1936876918"? For sure not PMG, PMD, PMC, PMA, PPD or TOBJ. And it must be a binary, not anything textual.
Re: Model has incorrect file version
Thanks for everyone. The problem probably caused during conversion. I couldnt do manual conversion. I tried to convert and pack in blender. It Works now.
Re: Model has incorrect file version
@ oggich, unfortunately you will have to wait until the author of the mods updates the mods to a newer version of the game. This is your simplest solution.
