I just made few sign boards, in blender they are in a "correct view", the root object is correctly placed, but in the game they are inverted :

check if it actually is right oriented, if you know how to do it load your model as a preview to a new created locator or even an existing one

to fix it, rotate the root so it matches your preview model and then rotate only the mesh to your desired position

Well, my model is not loaded with a "model locator" but just with a root object

this doesnt matter, a locator is there to load a root object, this is what the preview tool is for, to see how it looks like and on my example you can clearly see how the model would look like ingame even though it looks "right" in blender
