Using Blender through Steam or direct download?

Is there any issues with using Blender through steam or directly downloading Blender from their website? Just looking for pros and cons for either way. Does Steam use the very latest Blender version and they automatically update to latest version which may break Blender tools or conversion tools? Just looking for best way to install Blender?......

I use manual, so I can control where to place it and wait for plugins

I use Steam just so I can see how much time I waste

I always download .zip and unpack on place of my liking.
Then first make in the version number folder a new folder: called config,
so now this instal is totaly stand alone and dus not intervere with other or older blender install`s.
