Re: Needed Help, Assistance, Advice
I did follow the video you posted, @tinusman, no matter how much I keep trying I always get to the point the baked AO is black.

Re: Needed Help, Assistance, Advice
you have to select Ambient Occlusion, what you are rendering now is Combined, change it in the drop down menu

Re: Needed Help, Assistance, Advice
Nope, I always switch it to AO and keep the margin at 2 I was told by Dotec. Has to be something else. Literally what the guy in the video tutorial does, isn't like I did something different to say, screw up. Dunno what to say.
Here is a video of what I'm actually doing:

Re: Needed Help, Assistance, Advice
You need to disable rendering for parts (shadow) that overlaps this one.

I think as galimim say`s
go to the right top in the outliner; that `Y`
restriction toggle --> activate the camera
now deselect (hit) all camera`s of objects that must not influence your object to give shadow.
good luck

Re: Needed Help, Assistance, Advice
Done and it works. Already done it few times, AO baked. Thanks for the help you both. Alas I always seem to end up with sharp edges. Means the baked shadow isn't smooth.
Few most obvious possibilities why:
1. I unwrap wrong
[current: smart uv @ angle 66, margin 0.05, width 0, correct aspect ratio, boundaries unchecked - did try various values. Also used Unwrap & manually positioning the elements on the uv grid]
2. I use wrong bake settings
[current: margin 2 with and without square samples. Also tried to export the AO in 4k then downscaled to 1024x1024]
An example of where I am at the moment:

Re: Needed Help, Assistance, Advice
Sharp edges will appear on edges which are split in your UV. Doing smart uv unwrap and leaving it like that is a bad idea. You can start with smart uv unwrapping but then work on the UV so that the clearly visible edges on the mesh aren't split in your UV map.

Happens every single time you import the anim model from a stock truck in Blender, with the following error in console:
No changes done. Does it mean this particular model can't be edited via Blender at all?!
UPDATE: Yikes... It doesn't happen with the new Scania model R/S. What the.... honk?!

I can import every anim interior model with no error lines.
How do you import these files?
