[2.0.1] Crash when importing after 2.91.2 update

#1 Post by FierbetoN » 22 Jan 2021 11:47

Importing .pim files almost always crashes. For some models like cabin_a of Actros 2009 it works the first time but crashes the second time.

@Dotec, @Schumi I don't have those problems. It works properly for me.

Everything will be okay in the end, and if it`s not okay, it`s not the end.

This error does not exist for me in the first window of the program, but in the second window, import and blender saves encounter an error, but you have to save your work moment by moment to don't lose it.
Sorry for my bad english:)

The crash happens when BT is "baking" cubemap reflection textures after importing a pit file. So a model without reflection textures will import fine. To me it looks like it's a blender bug. I modified BT a bit so that it leaves the temporary scenes with all the prepared objects and camera for rendering and only skips the rendering itself. Then I switched to these scenes, tried rendering them manually but it crashed as well (not always at the first render, sometimes after 2, 3 or more successful renders). These scenes are very simple with 6 textured planes and a camera in panoramic mode. I see no reason for these crashes on BT side. I guess we should stick with 2.91.0 for now.

I looked on Blender steam discussions and it seems it is indeed a Blender problem (I think it's fixed in 2.92).
