Weird steering and also.. [15649]
Re: Weird steering and also.. [15649]
Was this addressed in the new hotfix?
Re: Weird steering and also.. [15649]
Look at tractor pulling and what happens with the front wheels when they pull a heavy freight and this happens also with a normal tractor only not that extreme.
So accelerate more aggressive and you force the front wheel to lift up when you accelerate gently you will see and feel the front wheels feels lighter but don't come of the ground when accelerate.
But in a way I see some gamers load a weight on a truck which can't handle that weight like the want to pull 10 tons with a beetle
But there is an issue with some heavy loads like the pictures I show a few pages back, the DAF Euro6 prance like a horse but till now I had this experience only with the DAF Euro6.
Yesterday I took a heavy freight about 30 tons with my DAF XF 105 (510BHP) and there where no problems at all, I took a heavy load with a Scania R620 and there was also no problem at all till I accelerate to aggressive and my front wheel became feeling slippery.
I stop accelerating aggressive and push the throttle gently and the front wheels don't feel slippery no more, so there is a lot what you can do about such things.

Steering problem
Hello everyone,
since game to version 1.18.1.s 64-bit am having some problems in delivery, I can not turn the truck goes straight, it happens with heavy trailers, from 35t onwards.
I am forced to cancel delivery to make a new one.
The problem has the percentage of deliveries 8 of 10.
How can I fix?

Re: Steering problem
This has been mentioned before somewhere, can't remember where though.
My thoughts:
Have you tried different trucks? Have you tried different chassis? (Like 6x4? Or a mid lift axle? Does it do the same with those? Why not try ALL the chassis, it's obvious the front wheels aren't making enough contact with the ground to turn the truck. A mid lift chassis has the centre axle as a steerable axle, that may help.
Just a few thoughts

Post a copy of your game.log.txt file, and a copy of your game.crash.txt if your game has crashed. If the logs are too large to fit in one message you can use Pastebin.com to post them. Unless you have installed the game in a non-standard way (such as using "-homedir"), here's where you'll find these files:
Windows XP:
C:\My Documents\Euro Truck Simulator 2\game.log.txt
C:\My Documents\Euro Truck Simulator 2\game.crash.txt
Windows Vista, 7 and 8:
C:\Users\**Your User Name**\Documents\Euro Truck Simulator 2\game.log.txt
C:\Users\**Your User Name**\Documents\Euro Truck Simulator 2\game.crash.txt
And by the way, in my opinion, steering in 1.18 has been improved dramatically. I have always thought the trucks drove like boats before, but they fixed that in 1.18.

Truck steering 1.18.1.3
I was wondering if something is being done about the truck steering for heavy loads?
I had a 25 ton load and trying to reverse to park the trailer, it was horrible, basically the truck went straight no matter where the steering position was, left or right.
Turning corners traveling through the hills is bad as well!!!
Edit: This is a 1.18.1.3 bug Flemming!

Think again Ax, wait till you have a heavy load!!!!And by the way, in my opinion, steering in 1.18 has been improved dramatically. I have always thought the trucks drove like boats before, but they fixed that in 1.18.

Re: Weird steering and also.. [15649]
I think this thread, being in the 1.17 bug section, has stagnated!!!
It would be nice to know if something is being done!!!

Agreed, i'm still having issues with 6x4 chassis and heavier loads. I started a new profile recently with an Iveco Stralis with a 6x2 midlift which didnt have a problem with any loads. Changed to a 6x4 and the strange understeering feel when towing anything over 20t is back.
On throttle it feels like all the weight is transfered over the rear wheels, obviously this is what happens anyway. But it feels like the truck is almost lifting the front wheels off the ground making it very difficult to steer whilst on the throttle.

I haven't been playing the game lately ever since the Mercedes has been released, all I know is that the 6x4 DAF EURO 6 no longer has that handling problem, I don't know about the other trucks.

Re: Truck steering 1.18.1.3
Yes I know, but I don't see any reason to move every bug from 1.17.x to 1.18.x just because they was not fixed before the 1.18.x patch.Reece wrote:Edit: This is a 1.18.1.3 bug Flemming!
Trust me, SCS is aware of this problem and will work on a solution, but that does not mean it is necessarily fixed before next patch.
As you see in Heading, it is reported and have this BUG no. 15649, no matter which build is was found in.
