MMG is only enforcing the forum rules and these apply to everyone, so don't feel singled out. I'm sure he's not out to get you.

Scania Truck Driving Simulator should be in your Steam library, so all you should have to do is open Steam and go to Library and find Scania Truck Driving Simulator. It should be listed there regardless of whether it is currently installed or not. If it is installed, you should be able to click the Play button next to it. If it is not installed, there should be an "Install" (or something like that) next to it. All games you buy through Steam are associated to your Steam account so it has to be there.

The game.log should be in /Users/admin/Library/Application Support/Steam/SteamApps/common/Scania Truck Driving Simulator/game.log

As Unco said, I'm just enfocing the forum rules just like I do with everyone else. I wouldn't want to target or single out anyone. How would it be fair if I left your quote there, and then another user did that, and I deleted it? I'm sure you'll agree on me with that. I'm completely baffled as to why you think I'd single out someone when everyone should treat everyone the same. Was it my first post that has aggravated you?

You no longer can be bothered to fix your game, just because I edited your post which was breaching the forum rules, when all we tried to do was help. :|

I'm sure there's a nice nvidia card in that mac sitting there unused, just waiting to show the potential of ETS2. It will be a shame to see it go to waste.

What model is your Mac? Do you have a link to your computer specifications? I have a feeling you have two video adaptors on that computer: one for mundane tasks such as office software and web browsing, and another one for graphics intensive tasks, such as photoshop, gaming, cad software. If you can point me to your full system specifications somehow, I can then confirm whether this is the case or not.

EDIT: I've done a quick search and checked both your log files as well. You two seem to be running the same model mac computer:

I think a dev needs to look at this. It seems that the only video adaptor on these computers is the integrated Intel HD Graphics 3000. There doesn't seem to be any nvidia adaptor, as I was lead to believe earlier.

These mac computers were reviewed in 2011 as "good for work and play", however, I disagree with such reviews on the basis that the integrated Intel graphics can hardly be called a gaming graphics solution.

The only positive that I see with these computers, is that, apparently, they are able to dual boot, so you can install Windows and run OS 10 or whatever it's called, alongside it. If you were to install Windows, you would then be able to run the game in DirectX mode (I imagine), which may give you better results.

Setting up a dual boot computer is not for beginners. It is time consuming and I don't believe it is the best solution, but it is an option.

If you ask me, I would buy/build a cheap gaming PC for games.

EDIT 2: Actually, I suggest as a first thing, to run the game at the lowest possible graphics detail level and see if the problem persists. If the problem goes away, then start increasing the graphics details bit by bit until they start glitching again.

Missing textures on Mac

I just purchased the game for the first time tonight, and here's what it looks like when I try to play:

At least one other person is having the same problem on a Mac. As I mentioned over there, I am not running out of memory.

Also, is that really all the better it's going to look graphicswise, assuming the textures can be fixed? My laptop is by no means a high end rig but the resolution looks way worse than what I'd expected. I set the resolution to 1440x900 and graphics settings to Ultra. I kinda doubt it'll play on Ultra at an acceptable fps on my machine, but it should look nice when stationary, right? It looks marginally better than "Low" but not much. Do I need to install OpenGL separately or something?

Can you post your game.log.txt?

It should be somewhere like:

/Users/your_username/Library/Application Support/Steam/SteamApps/common/Euro Truck Simulator 2

Can you also post your system specifications?

Have you tried running the game on low graphics detail settings?

Most specs are in the log, but... it's a Mid-2011 Macbook Air, 1.8 GHz Core i7, 4 GB, HD Graphics 4000 384MB, running Yosemite.

I have tried running it on low - the graphics look slightly worse but none of the missing textures appear.

The constant in all these Mac issues that people are experiencing is the Intel HD 3000 integrated graphics.

A dev needs to look into this. Having said that, playing computer games on an Intel HD 3000 is a bad idea, IMO. It is just not a gaming gpu.

EDIT: I have actually just noticed the minimum system requirements on the Steam page for Mac = Intel HD 4000, so it looks like lvin4jc, gmans5 and salgrabowski are running the game on hardware that is not supported. I would not expect a reply from a dev about this.

My suggestion is to install the game on a Mac that meets the minimum system requirements.

EDIT 2: Sorry, it must be too early. The Steam page actually doesn't say anything about Intel HD 4000 for Mac, but it does for Windows, Linux and Steam OS. I don't know why it is not listed as a minimum requirement for Mac. I believe it should be and it probably is an error on the Steam page.
