Few questions about drivers ...

#1 Post by rsitaly » 03 Sep 2015 09:37

Replying to post on the ETS2 forums another user wrote:

"You could buy trailers for different loads. You could SEE them at your headquarters, you could see your hired drivers, you would meet new drivers by chatting on the radio with them. You could have contracts with companies."

He was speaking about 18 WOS Haulin so I think this should apply to AHL as well ... I have few questions about this post:

1) really you can see (meet on the road?) your hired drivers?
2) how can you meet new drivers by chatting on the radio with them?
3) if you have a driver (and a truck of course), you need to have a contract with a company in order to assign the driver to this contract, or your driver find jobs by himself?

Thanks in advance!

1) No (None of the SCS Software game had this feature. All the hired drivers are virtual in the gameplay)
2) No (CB in Haulin was just for fun. Game uses pre-recorded audio files without any influence or roll in the gameplay)
3) Not sure about what you mean here.

Thanks for the answers!
I'll try to better explain the 3nd question:

- in a hotel I found a driver and I hired him
- for him I bought a truck and a trailer (generic beverage trailer)
- because I didn't know if he was aBle to find a job by himself (like in ETS2 where it is the game that generates jobs for your drivers), I signed a contract woth a company and I assigned my new driver, the new truck and the new trailer to this contract and my driver started to work

My question is ... am I forced to sign contracts with the companies and assign the drivers/trucks to them, or the game assign jobs to your drivers without the need to sign contracts?

1) You can see your drivers in 18 WoS Across America, maybe Pedal to the Metal as well.

And yes, you do have to assign your drivers to contracts.

You can see the drivers at the parking lot, but not on the road, right?

You can see them on the road, never saw them in a parking lot though, actually they don't park.
