Hello!
As soon as I hear myself yawning and I read the message that I'm getting tired, I look for a suitable space to stop (I can't stop my truck in the middle of a road!); maybe this lead me to drive again for few REAL minutes (not game time) and receiving a couple of "you are getting tired" messages more.
I stop my truck, shut-off the engine, and I use the ADVANCE TIME for 8 hours; please note that my truck is a "with sleeper" version.
But sometime (not always) , when I meet the police, I'm getting fined by her because I have driven while I was tired.
So my questions are:
1) how many hours of drive at max are allowed and how many hours I have to rest?
2) when I receive the FIRST message that I'm getting tired I'm already violating the rules?
3) where can I check my tiredness?
Thanks for helping ...
Roberto
Getting tired and fined by police ... can you explain to me?
Re: Getting tired and fined by police ... can you explain to
EDIT: Oh lord... I didn't realize this was for 18WoS. Disregard the following... Sorry!
By pressing F6 you go to the information panel in the route advisor, there you will see (in yellow text) the number of hours you have before your next rest stop.
Plan ahead so you will come up on a rest stop some 2-4 hours before your rest time and never grow tired.
1) When fully rested, you have 11 hours to drive before the next rest stop.
2) When you receive the first message you are not yet in violation, you should have about one in-game hour left before you are violating the resting schedule. Keep in mind that one game hour passes 3 times as fast in real time if in a city, 15 times as fast if in the UK and 19 times as fast in the rest of Europe if not in a city.
3) Using the route advisors second screen (F6) at the bottom.

Not sure that Route Advisor and F6 works in 18WoS as I haven't played it.
But the normal rest time for sleeping (in ETS2 at least) is 9 hours. Not 8.

BHS

Here is a tip for u when & if u get stopped by the police in game play mode & would like to avoid getting fined, try this !
TIP: If you run a red light & you do not want to incur the fine & loose money, (if you are able), park on the shoulder of the road, shut down the engine, engage the parking brake, turn on your right turn signal & stay put.
It will take awhile to have the red bar decrease, but it will eventually go down & completely disappear.

Here is another tip involving the police that u may have not known about.

SUBJECT: Lights & Police Note.
You must turn ON your lights at: 7 PM
& keep them on untill: 6 AM EVEN IF YOU ARE PARKED or NOT !.
The reason for this is (if failing to do so), will cause your police activity indicator to start to fill in with a red bar.
If you heed to this, the red bar in the police activity indicator will drop & disappear.

You can turn the sleep and police feature off in the config file in the documents. Go to the 18 WOS ALH folder in the documents and open the config file with notepad. Go and change the fatigue and police values from a 1 to a 0.

Yes, u can.
Try doing a google search under: "18 wheels of steel american long haul cheats" OR
"18 wheels of steel american long haul mods".
You should find more info in some of the listed hyperlinks, by reading each one, on the subject u are after.
