Modding guides forum guidelines.

Forum rules
SCS as a company do not wish to have paid mods on this forum. While we understand that not all paid mods use the Intellectual Property of other companies/people, it is very hard to moderate what is and isn't acceptable when money is involved. There are also concerns that it could look unfavorable to potential work partners going forward if SCS allow mods that may potentially use unlicensed branding.
Posting in the Mods forum (ATS and ETS2) is restricted to sharing free-to-the-public mods and providing support for mods. For more details, please check the Forum Rules.

Modding guides forum guidelines.

#1 Post by Cadde » 27 Aug 2015 10:37

Short and simple, only modding guide threads/topics should go in this subforum.
Please, despite your thread being in this subforum, prepend your topic subject with the text:

Code: Select all

[GUIDE][VERSION] ...
Where VERSION is the game version your guide was written for. Such as "1.9.2.1" or "1.20.2" etc.

This makes it clear for other users that your thread is a modding guide thread and they can also use that tag to search for threads that are guides with a specific subject. (Google handles topic subjects specially and prioritizes results with that in the subject)

As a special rule, you are allowed to make several (within reason) double posts after the first post to reserve space for future edits and categorization of your modding guide.

For an example of such a topic see this: viewtopic.php?f=172&t=189379

Please help the moderators identify threads that should be placed in this subforum by reporting them with a message like "move to modding guides subforum".
On extended hiatus.
