Re: [GUIDE] Working with textures (images) for games.
Again, you can do that with blender. Or with Gimp. Or with Paint.net with a plugin.
All free alternatives and easy to use and learn.

little confused myself, but maybe like this (photoshop)
Re: [GUIDE] Working with textures (images) for games.
The best way (texture wise) is as shown in the video above that mikey posted. Simply add an alpha layer and paint on it. When you paint on the alpha layer, you are painting in grayscale for obvious reasons.
You could make a new image with transparency and work with that directly. But it would be annoying when doing this kind of texture work, the only place "REAL" transparency would make sense is when the texture is a faux see-through model such as the leaves of a tree or a fence etc.

I use DXT5 ARGB 8 bpp | interpolated alpha.
Help me guys.
In game, the truck/trailer skin too much shiny. I don't want it.

Re: [GUIDE] Working with textures (images) for games.
Are you sure the truck you are skinning has a matte paint job effect? Have you tried your methods on a vanilla truck?
And even then, i don't remember what effect the alpha channel has on truck skins. So there's that.
Try a checkered grid on your alpha channel (black/white) and see what it does on the truck you are skinning.
Trailers i have absolutely no idea on what effects the alpha channel would have.
