ets2 truck mods

Hi i have downloaded a usa truck mod to use in ets2 how do i add this to the in game mod folder to use it as i cant find a scs file.
the file came as a zip folder

...Or have you opened/extracted the file, or have you put it in the mod folder as it came?

@tomhearn33, The mod may not be an '.scs' file, it could be a .zip file (they're essentially the same thing).

hi guys the link to the mod is freightliner_fld_ets2_1.36_v3 i have tried to put the whole file in mod folder as well as extracting it and trying that way but when i open the game and go to mods its not there cheers for the help

Where did you download it, i only know of one for ATS and that's in the workshop.....

@tomhearn33 That isn't a link to the mod, that's the zip/scs file name.

When you open the zip do you see: def/material/sound/ui etc? Just going through the obvious to start.

Documents/Euro Truck Simulator 2/mod should be the default path. Place the zip/scs file there, go to the Mod Manager in game.

digital x :- yes that is what i see when i open the file have tried to put the whole file is and have tried adding as single file too but cant find it in the in game add mod section

@tomhearn33, OK, if you have a zip or scs archive containing the mod in your ETS2/mods folder and don't see it in the mod manager there is something else going on.

Check the mod to see if it is actually compatible with your game version: within the archive is a manifest.sii file, open that file and check to see if there is a line which refers to compatibility and then specifies a game version. If the mod is now showing up it might be because the manifest is telling the game that the mod is compatible with version 1.37 and you're playing on 1.38 (for example). in this case the game's mod manager will not even display the mod.

If there is such a line in the manifest file you can try deleting it and then see if the mod will show up and run in your game version. It might not be compatible at all (no matter what the manifest or mod's download page tells you).

hi old fart trucking have tried that and i'm running version 1.37 have played around with the manifest sii file and have now got the mod showing up and cane use in game thanks for your help keep on trucking
