Project: change/hide a specific trailer in AI traffic

Forum rules
SCS as a company do not wish to have paid mods on this forum. While we understand that not all paid mods use the Intellectual Property of other companies/people, it is very hard to moderate what is and isn't acceptable when money is involved. There are also concerns that it could look unfavorable to potential work partners going forward if SCS allow mods that may potentially use unlicensed branding.
Posting in the Mods forum (ATS and ETS2) is restricted to sharing free-to-the-public mods and providing support for mods. For more details, please check chapters [4] and [5] of Forum Rules.

Project: change/hide a specific trailer in AI traffic

#1 Post by MacCekko » 16 Apr 2020 15:28

Hello to everyone.
First thing first, I might easily have posted in the wrong section, therefore I apologize in advance.

I am trying to better understand the matter, here, so please excuse me for being so vague, possibly even inaccurate (and English is also not my mother tongue, so excuse me… again).

My goal would be to create a sort of a script (or a "mod" so to speak) that could change the kind of AI traffic in the following way: any time that I can actually SEE a specific kind of trailer, say those which carry cattle/livestock, I would like to have them changed in “something else” or, more simply, hidden…

Screen Shot 2020-04-16 at 17.22.07.jpg

I probably must explain myself a little bit better, so please be patient: I am not ashamed of saying that I am vegan – therefore I do not eat nor use animals for my benefits nor do I use products deriving from them in any way – so seeing cattle trailers in ETS2 AI traffic, especially in the vanilla game (that is in my “no-MODs” profiles), hurts my heart every time. It may easily sound ridiculous, but… this is it, I am vegan, so I don'tlike to actually see them at the point that I must look away every time I come accross one of them. This is giving me a hard time in keeping my truck straight in the lane!
I know, it's a game, I well know it's a simulation, but nevertheless since it is a simulation of the real world, it really annoys me a lot and makes me sad.
So it would be awesome that I could somehow “instruct” the Simulator to NOT display those kind of trailer in my AI traffic, and possibly, if needed, to exchange them with any other trailers available. In vanilla profiles, it seems strange but there are MANY going around! In profiles using MODs, clearly those kind of trailers are substituted with other more often than in the vanilla profile, i guess…
Obvuoisly I never choose those trailers for MY jobs, but the AI traffic is another matter, since I cannot control it: hence this question of mine. :?

Could someone of you experts (I am thinking about Cipinho, for instance, with whom I had occasion to exchange posts a few times in the past, but everyone is obviously welcome to give a hand), tell me if this is even feasable and in what way, or, at least, tell me where to start to read some documentation in this regard?
I could even pay a symbolic sum to somebody to create such a MOD for me, if necessary.

Thank you very much.

Hi! I understand your wish, please check your PM! activate it above other mods containing trailers or cargoes and which may change the original files. with this mod you will never see the live stock trailer in traffic and neither in the freight market.
actually I have never seen this in traffic, but it's understandable since I have more than 1.000 trailers from mods in my traffic

edit: forgot to mention please don't pay me anything, it took me 2 minutes for it to make it... also please note that at first loading with this mod you will see some errors in the gamlog because of the missing cargo, these errors will be gone at the 2nd load of your game!
Enjoy driving with my Real Traffic Density for ETS2 and ATS

Hi, I am thinking the same way.
There are way too many "special" Trailers around and too less "standart" Trailers (Tautliner and Coolliner) in my opinion.
I once tried to make myself a mod which took out all the trucks with low roof of the game and it worked. But haven't made an update since (3 years now).

Hope there will be someone specialised in, who can help. This might be something a lot of people of the community are waiting for.

I would love a mod that takes out low roof and maybe makes only 5% of trucks 6*2 and 95% 4*2
