It's not just Nvidia: the AMD Radeon RX 6000 series also support raytracing.

like i said, every GPU can do it, it is just a matter of performance, RT was done before nvidia or AMD (at the time ATI) even thought about it

Yeah, I don't get it either, sure RT looks nice and all, but I don't think everyone knows how demanding it is (right now). SCS would alienate a huuuuuge portion of the player base if they would implement it.
I see this in forums for other games as well, players complaining that the game runs at 26 FPS on their twelve year old hardware, but they demand RT in the same sentence...

Edit; I'm not saying that anyone here reasons like that, it's just a general observation I've made in all kinds of forums.
When in doubt, take a step back, research, use logic and see the discussion from a different angle then.... MORE POWER!!

You don't have to use RT for everything. Metro Redux and Death Stranding use RT/DLSS only for some effects and it doesn't have that much of an impact on overall performance.

Well it couldn't be any worse than the SSAO decision I suppose...

I think that before RT we should get DLSS and the AMD version of it, that would really improve performance. But I think RT and DLSS are out of the question probably for a couple of years

Looking forward to this Update, going to open up a brand new Drawer of opportunities for enhancement and graphic optimization.

Think its time to have that 1 SCS Default vehicle, so we can continue to play whilst waiting for mods to catch up. :D

And what was the bad part of the SSAO?

@Some newbie driver I think it might be due to the fps issue people were having when it first came out.

Then there's nothing wrong with it

ANY improvement to a graphic output will decrease the FPS unless we are talking about an absolute overhaul (and that was NOT announced). On the other hand, most FPS big drops were due people combining it with high upscaling values. Something that the blog announcement explained explicitly NOT to do.

So, the only wrong of SSAO isn't SSAO, is that the game lacks proper AA.
