ATS 1.41 discussion
Re: ATS 1.41 Open Beta discussion
@xTHANATOPSISx Thanks! It is actually really interesting how they mounted the control stalk for the retarder on the T800 you shared.
You are basically confirming what my current knowledge is: Retarders in North America are more or less, in the kind of trucks that are simulated within American Truck Simulator (Class 8, long-distance), non-existent.
But you also claim that they are an option. Where can I find more information/proof for that?

Re: ATS 1.41 Open Beta discussion
Probably not an 1.41 ob related issue, but i couldn't think of a better place to ask.
I'm having a hard time getting my headset mic working in Convoy-mode. Everything looks good in Windows from what i can see and the mic is in order, During convoy sessions i hear everyone else. The CB-radio sign pops up when i press and hold the X-key, but no one hears me. I'm sure it's something simple, but i'm kind of stuck now... I'm on Windows 10 if that matters.

I've never done that before, so I'm sure I can do it (Långstrump, Pippi)

@R0adrunner
It could be some audio driver from your computer. In my case something similar happened when I updated the REALTEK drivers. What I did to fix it was to go back to the old drivers. And everything worked normal.

Dunno if it would affect ingame, but make sure you have both comms and main input set to the same mic you are using ingame.
Also, try mic settings in steam config menus and see if everything is ok there too.

@eshvos From what I've learned on here, there are options available that you can only find out about by visiting a dealership and discussing with sales staff. Not everything is published on the web.

@Madkine That's why I am always hoping that someone has brochures from a dealership or something like that (e. g. saved a for sales ad with detailed information) and shares them. I can't do much with the information "I've seen it with a retarder" or "I believe it is available with a retarder". It could even be an aftermarket retarder installation. It is also not possible for me to take a plane and visit a country just to go to a dealership trying to get the information I want.
I am probably like the people on forums saying "pics or it didn't happen" and I can very much relate to those people. Even having a parts or model number is very useful, as that's a great starting point for finding the information and/or sources on the internet. But only having a couple of words is as good as using my imagination and imagining what could have been available.
If it is so difficult to find detailed information about retarders in modern North American trucks, there can't be many on the road. It is even easier to find information about Volvo's extremely rare synchromesh transmissions or Scanias imported into Canada or the US after having reached 15/25 years of age ...
I guess I'll just give up with trying to find sources for claims made on this forum ...

Yes, I've been pulled in and it takes a little longer than just a weight/inspection station.
