So maybe the key is Internal friction and we should adjust it first before any other slider? I was decreasing Low speed centering force to reduce unwanted centering force but instead I think I should increase Internal friction to do so. Actually it explains why the weird behavior I mentioned happens and why the sliders are so sensitive. I guess the tire tread friction is too low with the default Internal friction setting. It seems that I should increase Internal friction first until the behavior I mentioned gets reduced properly.EricF wrote: ↑23 Oct 2021 15:02With these settings, I can have the wheel turned full left or right and begin moving -- and the wheel will twitch and lazily attempt to move toward center and quickly stall. The truck will continue turning in the direction of the wheel. There's a little less resistance to turning the wheel towards straight-ahead then to hold it or turn it back in the direction of the turn; this is realistic behavior.Code: Select all

Re: ATS 1.42 discussion thread
I've been having my game crash when ever I try to complete a load or go to service. I press enter when prompted and the game shuts down. I do not have any red flagged mods running. This is new to me since upgrading to 1.42.
I have checked the file integrity.

Try disabling all mods and see if it still happens.

I used to console command to set the internal friction well above the supported values of the slider. I'm using c_ff_friction 3.0. Doing this made the steering a lot better for me.

Force Feedback 1.42
After update 1.42 I find that the default Force Feedback of the game is impossible to drive.
Steering returns are very violent. If I reduce these parameters, the G920 is very light. I can't get a good configuration ... After more than 3,000 hours of play in ATS and ETS2 it is the first time that I have these problems. I accept suggestions or comments. Greetings..

Spotted a new traffic vehicle on the road; some sort of armored bank truck.

Re: ATS 1.42 discussion thread
So, today was the second try to get the FFB working. Had to add "friction" over the Fanatec software to have force on the deadzone and damp down the stupid wheel shaking. Did a 1000mile job and yes its drivable now but far from a good feeling. Has anyone a solution to get rid of the hyperfast wheel centering? From full lock to straight in about 1-2m is not only unrealistic, it irritates so much that it kills every immersion.

The in-game settings has two options: centering at low speed and centering at high speed. Adjusting those sliders in the game settings (or alternately using the c_ff_lo_spd and c_ff_hi_spd console commands) should help you fix that.
