Re: ATS 1.42 discussion thread
That sounds really interesting. I'll have to experiment with that. Is there a console command for the steering nonlinearity? I find it much easier to fine tune things with numerical values rather than an arbitrary slider position.
Re: ATS 1.42 discussion thread
it should be "c_steer_func".supersobes wrote: ↑26 Oct 2021 15:15 That sounds really interesting. I'll have to experiment with that. Is there a console command for the steering nonlinearity? I find it much easier to fine tune things with numerical values rather than an arbitrary slider position.
Nobody can tell you anything about it. Those who know about it aren't allowed to talk. And those who talk know nothing.

you are crazysupersobes wrote: ↑26 Oct 2021 00:21 my Logitech G920. To make up for the lack of centering force, I use 300% friction, achieved by using the command c_ff_friction 3.0
if I do this on my steering wheel, it looks horrible

Re: ATS 1.42 discussion thread
Thank you, Max! That worked.
Using the value "c_steer_func 0.3" feels pretty good.
@Andre_AW Interesting. When I use "c_ff_friciton 3.0" my steering is nice and smooth, and it's still light enough that I can turn it with one finger.
The full list of values I'm using is as follows:

Re: ATS 1.42 discussion thread
so I just enter these commands on the console? I ented "c_ff_friction 3.0" but it did not understand the command

Re: ATS 1.42 discussion thread
After today update there were some substantial changes so i would advise for going back to default settings and adapt to your likings from there again, maybe you find that it needs less tinkering with values than before.
Also remove any custom LUT curve you might have on your profile folder for this test, specially if you own any Logitech wheel.

Re: ATS 1.42 discussion thread
@supersobes I tried using your settings and incredibly my steering wheel was really weird, and look that my vonate is a G920
in fact the internal friction causes a problem on my steering wheel, it ends up creating a lock in the center because of the polarity inversion of the steering wheel and that's why I use a custom curve and reduce it a little
unfortunately this is how logitech steering wheels are built

This is what I get when I enter c_ff_friction 3.0
