Will the trailers I have made work in 1.27.?
Tbh axle lift on the trailer doesn't bother me as atm there is no benefit of it in the game as you never empty load and return with empty trailer or do a mixed delivery.

We know the hosting is down.
Give it some time, it was down last month too because the subscription ran out.
We extended it by one month last time but the plan is that all hosting is supposed to go elsewhere. That will happen when there's TIME to move hosting over.

My last trip was cut flowers in a refer and at 1 ton did not need the tag axle on the trailer nor on the tractor and leaving them raised made cornering and tracking much improved. Any load below 15 ton should be ok as the trailers with lift axles typically have two or more other axles. There is also a mod that allows 2 lift axles on the trailer.
