no, Plows are lightest (6500lbs), then Fireworks (10000), Computers (11500) and Ventilation Shaft (12500), etc.

Forgot about those.

I do flat bed stuff once in a while. If I need to visit a city or explore a route. Or for whatever reason I fall out of the repetitive car hauler loop.

But now with external contracts theres 20 some odd car jobs to any city with a dealership or rail yard. I personally like the long haul from Show Low to Eureka.

Ok, so basically I'm doing VTC-style trip logging with Google Forms and Spreadsheets, and I'm trying to figure out how to calculate average ton-miles per gallon. I'm using this formula:

Fuel Efficiency = B6 * B5 / F2 / B3

Total mass of cargos (t) = B6
Total miles = B5
Total fuel consumed (gal) = F2
Number of trips = B3

I'm getting average of 53.31 ton-mi/gal when my mpg is 5.62, does this sound realistic? I'm not using RFC, yet.

Also, what is actually a "ton" in this context? Long ton, short (US) ton, 1000kg?

Nice job juizzysquirt! Going off topic here, I did pretty much the same thing when playing Microsoft Flight Simulator a long time ago being doing a flight based on real time. Also, I look at the real departure time of the flight that I'm mimicking and using the clock in the cockpit, wait until it is time for me to close the doors, remove the jetway, and begin my pushback.

long tons (1016kg).
selection in option are like kg+ton(metric), pound+ton(long), pound only.
when this was made author believed that "pound+long ton" is rather UK style while "pound only" is more US style.
Nobody can tell you anything about it. Those who know about it aren't allowed to talk. And those who talk know nothing.

Ok, this certainly clarifies what units are used within the game. I think the official ton-mi/gal ratio is calculated with short tons, so maybe I'll report my cargo weights as pounds for accuracy and simplicity.

@ Max

I've always understood it to be 1 ton = 2000Lbs and 1 long ton being 2200lbs or 1000kg. (Being that I live in the US)

1 long ton (imperial) = 2240 lb = 1016.05 kg
1 short ton (US ton) = 2000 lb = 907.18 kg
1 metric ton (tonne) = 2204.62 lb = 1000 kg

Huh, thought metric and long ton were the same thing.
