No more Deming in the game? I know originally it was only referenced by a sign on I10, even though the town wasn’t actually there but now the cut-off sign is gone.

Huh. They removed the trucks stop/scenic town or just the signage?

The truck stop and the exit are still there. The sign was changed. Instead of saying Deming, it says NM-418, which is consistent with the way it is in real-life.

Ohhh. Nice. Thanks for the confirmation @supersobes. Natvander is reworking for realism/accuracy beyond newer maps. This just adds more immersion. I know a lot of people are loving the accuracy so that they can follow signs and not the gps. I'm trying it myself and its actually fun. It helps pay more attention and learn direction of (x) city/town. The added numbers on the distance signs now helps a lot. They are taking the place of the waypoints on the info panel. Since we can't dock the panel ourselves where we'd like it, I try not to use the panel much. So plus one to signage accuracy.

That all said, why remove the other sign that said Deming? I mean, they can have both can't they? Not a big deal I suppose, but I've stayed in Deming while travelling along I10 so it was kind of nice to see the reference and say "hey, I've been there!"

Maybe I missed this in the 110 pages of thread here... but is there any thought to connecting US-60? When (and if) the refreshhappens, that feels like one road that should have been there from the start. It would provide a better intersection where 54 and 285 meet it.

It feels weird to me to be able to drive US-60 on the western side and eastern side of the state, but not through the middle.

^^Agree with you, I think the main US Highway should be continuous (example: 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70)

I think space is an issue in this case. The distance between Socorro and Albuquerque is too short to have the US 60 junction in the middle; maybe this is why SCS chose the US 380 instead...???
I still would prefer the continuity of a main US highway (my opinion) but I also like other US highway too (imagine if SCS could keep the 380 and add the missing part of the 60); that would be really nice!!!

^The issue with your statement about US highways, is what is considered the main ones. What does SCS consider main roads. Who tells them what is main. Some opinions could be bias.

They’d have to rework the area between Socorro and Albuquerque. I haven’t driven that portion of I-25 in a while so I’m not entirely sure how feasible that would be, but I know people have asked for that portion of US 60 for a while so that might be why they haven’t added it all these years later.

Yeah, just because the highway has a number divisible by 5 isn’t necessarily an indication of it’s importance. US 30 we got in chunks with Wyoming, having a fairly sizable gap between Montpelier and WYO 89. We’ll see if US 60 between I-25 and Vaughn gets some love around the release of Texas, but if not I doubt we’ll ever see it, personally.

Actually, that's exactly what the 5s and 0s mean in the US highway numbering system. This also applies to Interstate highways too. Highways that end in the digit 0 are the major east-west routes, these are US-10, US-20, US-30, and so on all the way to US-90. US-2 is also included in this, as it's the lowest even digit without the road being called US-0. The background paragraph in the article about the numbing of US-20 includes an explanation of this:

"When the State and Federal highway officials on the Joint Board on Interstate Highways conceived the U.S. numbered highway system in 1925, they decided that numbers ending in zero would be assigned to the transcontinental or major east-west routes, with the lowest number in the north (U.S. 2 was assigned to the northernmost route to avoid using U.S. 0)."
