I found out the hard way, not to use a 500 HP engine with a 54 Tonne trailer.. See a hill when going below 20MPH? Get the tow rope out. Same issue with the 34Tonne trailer, couldn't do a hill start as the engine lacked power. Dam AI :(

I've delivered it two times with no problem. Even at the rail export in Bakersfield!

The trick is to make the turns very late and very wide.

You should have plenty of room. There should be a nearly a full truck length of space in front of you. If the gap is significantly smaller than that you may have a map mod interfering.

There are four parking spaces in front of the entrance. If those are empty or full of standard trailers, it's OK. But if a heavy trailer is there, it gets pretty hairy.

i wanted to reply to the topic of the trailer parking at rest stops but it was locked, in the big rest stops with the gas stations i park it on the edge of the truck park on the right, on the small rest stops with gas stations i park them on the edge on the left, and belive it or not ive managed to get it in the motel parking lot in the back with ease, i would love to show a vid on how i did it but i dont have the right recording stuff and my internet is so bad to upload a small video its 16hrs. and has anybody noticed the truck jump more while pulling a trailer and the heavy haul trailers sway side to side or is it me

I saw that post and wanted to comment as well. This site doesn't have time for complaints like that so it's best if lock imo. My answer, don't drive heavy haul. All we need is people complaining about something they choose to do. Drop the trailer or don't drive that load if it's to difficult is all the advise I can give. Reworking the game at this point just for heavy haul, will not be liked. They re-scaled the game already and it took about 6 months and its already taking a while just to get a new state. I will pass. Give us more states. They can learn from this and adjust in future dlc.

That thread was locked, because its author made the same thread in the ETS2 part of the forum, doing that he contravened the rules of the forum. The posts that were made before the merging are in the ETS2 thread and the conversation continued and should continue there: viewtopic.php?f=41&t=242473.

i also noticed the made some depots bigger, like in phoenix the plaster and sons was too small to back in and drive out (unless you had a coe) where the loads are parked, now since the dlc was released the depot is much bigger.

I've noticed on some truck stops the sleep mechanism doesn't trigger unless detached from a heavy haul trailer, hope they add some special sleep zones.

Have not bothered hauling heavy cargo as I knew need to upgrade my truck and real life need permits to haul tunnel digger or massive earth mover. First, knew the bridges in the map are too low for these cargo and can get stuck. Second, need to turn wider and be on the money to prevent problems with the bigger trailers and deliveries will take longer. Finally, rather see the map expanded quicker and new trucks.
