Nope. http://www.liveadexchanger.com/* as a filter in AdBlockPlus doesn't stop the ad server. Same dotted quad comes up, then instantly changes to a name, and it's different each time.
Or did I add the filter incorrectly?

I'm not terribly sure there is a way to block ads on Sharemods, as the actual ad server has no domain name, so you can't block it via a service like OpenDNS.

Seems to be a 'random' redirect to one of their 'ad clients' in the page header at the 35. ip but ABP should catch the dotted quad first up?

Here's the best way to block the ad server:

If you use Tomato firmware in your router, go to "access restriction" and follow the image. This completely blocks any and all ads.

I've been downloading mods from all of the sites like sharemods, fileseu, etc., and with Adblock Plus installed in Firefox I have never had a problem. I just installed it, and didn't change any of the settings or blacklists. It works great "right out of the box". If there was a "box", as it were... The only thing I have ever had a problem with it is the download speed at certain times is awful. But it's not like that all day or every day. So I wrote that off as a result of Internet traffic.

I use an add-on called block site (on Firefox). I just added 35.184.169.188 and it blocks everything from that IP

I'm using Adblock Plus and never had too many issues with sites like these, but I will occasionally get a popup for a betting website or something...

I wish people would just use Google Drive, Dropbox or something

No, thank you... There's too many smart hackers out there for my taste. If I had mods to give away, I would use ShareMods... There's a lot of news reports like This one.
