Re: Poll: Choose (2) States you would like to see next
Ingame: US-20/26 and I-84 Boise ID, those roads are actually closer than Sterling CO and I-76.
If only looking at I-80 and US-30 and the connecting roads, then it would be possible.
But it would take space from other parallell roads.
Could be done, but I do not think it will be done.

Really, by the time we get to Florida, we should be able to get Disney World as a deliverable location. I mean, it is essential to the economy of Florida, no?
Well, I’m not actually expecting that but it would be cool. I think it would be a shame if we only got to see a sliver of the giant theme park business in Florida.

Disney World nor Universal have a place in ATS imo. They don't fit ATS economy at all. The amount if detail and asset needed is too high. No way SCS has the correct reference material.
My post are only thoughts and ideas. Don't assume it makes ATS.

Even if SCS wanted to include Disney World it would still be a bad idea to make Mouse World or something because Disney is famously litigious and the mere threat of getting sued by Mickey Mouse should be enough to deter SCS from even attempting a parody.

^Yeah I can agree with that. You can get away with somethings fake but Disney has serious money. I wouldn't bother at all. That is too risky. I am sure I could come up with 6-12 cargoes to take to Disney but I won't bother because I know it won't be in the game. All these amusement parks that do get in the game should remain just scenic with a few elements of the park off the roads so that you know where you are in the game world. No point in going beyond that in ATS imho.

Would be good to stay away from BNSF too.
And yeah, Disney could hit SCS hard, if they want.

Re: Poll: Choose (2) States you would like to see next
I wonder if SCS reached out to Union Pacific and BNSF though and got permission to do what they are doing. SCS has been changing up color scheme to controversial cargo. What's the difference? SCS cargo makes money off what they model. The trains in the game does not make money and is not targeting gamers like Train Simulator. BNSF and Union Pacific parodies are not changed to dayte. So I really wonder if SCS has permission to use the schemes but not the actual brand name due to the targeting.

Re: Poll: Choose (2) States you would like to see next
Technically obvious parody is still covered under fair use, the reason SCS is getting more careful about it is because as ATS gets bigger, the risk of getting sued (even if such a lawsuit doesn't carry legal weight, they'll still have to spend lots of money to fight it) increases. If they can avoid getting sued by FedEx by making small changes then they should do it from a risk management perspective. Rail companies aren't your typical consumer-facing businesses, so they aren't as likely to care about parodies of their brands being used in a truck simulator game. Whereas lots of people deal with FedEx, UPS, Walmart, etc on a day to day basis, therefore their brand image is more important to them and they're more likely to get antsy about what they might perceive (incorrectly) as copyright infringement.

Disney is very protective of copyrights and trademarks. Don't see amusement park or that likeness in game. Something like county fair grounds or local amusement park wont be problems. Orlando has other far lesser known amusement parks to use without problems.
