Poll: Choose (3) States you would like to see next
Re: Poll: Choose (2) States you would like to see next
Am I the only one who wants a corridor to the Florida and then fill the gap just like Pavel mentioned?
Re: Poll: Choose (2) States you would like to see next
I voted for Oklahoma and Louisiana. I think we should go closer to the Atlantic.
Re: Poll: Choose (2) States you would like to see next
Corridor to Florida after Texas, Montana and Oklahoma won't be the end of the world. It's not the same corridor with smaller states as much as it is with the West. Still not desired compared to stair stepping the map at the least. It would be better to alternate East towards Florida and North simultaneously.

I think that is 1 of the possible options.
And there is IRL Florida truckers that do corridor driving towards Texas. Well, some of their loads atleast.
Florida before Georgia would not be bad. But both close to each other, would be very nice.

I honestly think Georgia should come before Florida. But I'm willing to bet I-10 gets completed first. Much easier to go South and North of Florida without effecting another map team though. It will be pretty cool to complete the Gulf states though. I think it will be a bit busier in ATS than the West Coast.

Georgia before Florida seems like a must for me. Without Georgia, the only way to enter Florida is the I-10 and maaaybe US-231 if they include that. That would make for some extreme corridor driving.
On top of that, Florida isn’t nearly as spread out as western states, so doing jobs between companies within Florida would make for lots of repetitive drives.

Florida will be a big milestone so I wouldn't be surprised if they did it before Georgia. Either way there'll be complaints

I can agree with US-231. Dothan, AL has a population of 71k per the 2020 census from Google Maps. That is worthy of populating Southeast Alabama. We can get both US-231 and US-84 out of Dothan. Dothan establishes South Alabama and gets Southern Georgia some worth. So US-231 with Florida and US-84 with Georgia. US-84 can get us all the way to I-95. Valdosta, GA has a population of 56k. Pretty much the size of Cheyenne, Wy. Its a mapped city to me and it gets us into Southern Georgia. We have US-84 over in NM. We'll have to see if we get any in Texas. If we do, we could get bits and pieces East perhaps. We'll need a few US highways East where they can fit of course. 84 works for sure. It parallels I-10 nicely with space imo.
Georgia first doesn't exaggerate the corridor drive like Florida coming first does. Yes, Florida isn't spread out and definitely repetitive without Georgia. With Georgia we get Atlanta, Macon, Columbus, Augusta, Savannah and Valdosta for sure if you ask me. I think getting out of Birmingham, Montgomery and Dothan is worth Georgia first. That is 3 ways to get out of Alabama and spread out decently. If we can get Brunswick, GA as mapped, we get to the coast to the car ports and establish I-95 from Brunswick to Savannah. Following Georgia, I'd like to see Florida and Tennessee along with something in the North if we get confirmed 3 maps by then. But life beyond Texas isn't know as of yet. I could say life beyond Oklahoma. Oklahoma makes too much sense to come after Montana. I'd be shocked if Louisiana came first. But once Oklahoma drops, Kansas and Louisiana back to make is preferred. Keep opposite directions in development simultaneously.
The good road density comes once we get to I-35 and East of it. I-10, I-20 and I-40 should be the first 3 East to West interstates completed more than likely. With all the connections in between, I don't think that is too much of corridor with that density we could get. More compact road network than the West so I think we could get away with somewhat of push East. But I'd still favor stair step East/North together.

Re: Poll: Choose (2) States you would like to see next
Is that not already the case with Montana still missing, on the I-84? All the more reasons i'm excited for Montana anyway, thus I don't see Florida getting special treatment on that and receive more alternate routes (via Georgia) rather than just the I-10 (or rather that corridor). Especially if they decided to Beeline to Florida anyway.
Two wrongs don't make a right, three lefts...do
Re: Poll: Choose (2) States you would like to see next
I-84 in the West is complete. There is no I-84 in Montana. I-84 is in Oregon, Idaho and Utah. Now there is I-84 in the East. But that is years away.
But with Florida, they will make as many connections that makes sense. From Alabama, only I-10 entering doesn't make a lot of sense when there is a lot of border left. Between I-10, I-65 and I-75, that is a missed opportunity to get in 1-2 US highways for that triangular area. From Georgia to Florida, we can't have just I-75 and I-95. We'll need something connecting to Tallahassee.
I don't think SCS should abandon US or State highways at all in the East. They will have to be more selective with them and place them where they can for sure. But interstates only.....that won't work. We've seen the ETS2 crowd with Iberia and Black Sea. ATS has established and good balance thus far. SCS can't wreck that and expect to keep gaining fans.
