There are not few Brazilians who play ATS. I have a group that sometimes make trains, and every time it's in the ATS. 5 people who do not know each other personally and only train in the ATS. It has become commonplace to call Walmart Wallbert, Fedex PostED...
ATS has become a great hobby too in recent years after my dad was sick. I spend hours with him showing the landscapes... It kind of brought us closer together.

Michigan will be a super interesting state for lots of reasons, but one of the cooler parts will be getting so close to Canada with Sault Sainte Marie and Detroit, which will be the closest we'll get to Canada until New York. Plus I think Michigan's geography is very underrated. I've never been in-person but from what I've seen in photos it looks stunning, sort of like northern Minnesota and Wisconsin. I expect it to be similar to Washington in terms of density too. Tons of potential, but I can already hear the cries about I-75 being a bottleneck, which SCS has zero control over unless they want to drain Lake Michigan

In terms of learning more about geography from these games, yes that 100% applies to me. It's very satisfying to learn about road layouts, locations of cities, different regions, etc and get to the point where you don't need a map to envision the relationships between all these things. It's a bit harder with ETS2, both because I'm not from Europe and because the road network in-game is more dense so it's harder to visualize where cities are in relation to one another than in ATS. But I'm learning more every time I play.

The map @flight50 posted in viewtopic.php?p=1607061#p1607061 (and the 3 team map in my signature) are good representations of what I want to see from SCS's map release strategy. Stair-stepping in three directions. A good balance between commercial viability/marketability of new biomes, diversity between releases, and maintaining map shape and consistency across borders.

The UP (Upper Peninsula) of Michigan, being under the cold influence of Lake Superior and the Arctic, actually is a lot like the Arrowhead of Minnesota and the forests of northern Wisconsin. There are dense pine forests, many lakes, low mountains, and very scenic roads that run along Lakes Superior and Michigan, which have some colorful cliffs. The LP (Lower Peninsula) isn't as exciting, but it still has some good lakeside highways.

About Michigan being a bottleneck: there's no point in complaining to SCS about that, the state is like that IRL (I'm sure we all know that, but people are bound to complain anyway); just be glad the roads will likely be in better shape in ATS. But Michigan could release without Indiana or Ohio. There's a coal-fired steam-powered carferry called the SS Badger that runs between Manitowoc, WI, and Ludington, MI (on the LP); it's officially a part of US 10, and it allows semi trucks, even those with oversize loads (you just have to phone ahead to reserve space). I've crossed the lake twice on that ferry; she's a good ship and true.

That's also pretty interesting about ATS being so big in Brazil.

Furthermore, I consider that I-80 across Nevada must be redone next.

SS Badger, she's quite old https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SS_Badger
And yeah, as rbsanford wrote, it can carry oversize loads. Photos on the wikipedia link.

I'm interested to see if there will be 2 bigger map teams, or 3 smaller map teams.

Bet three or four smaller teams. It took 10 months to build Wyoming and two months to test it out. Something like Louisiana itself would be 8 months to build it and 1 month of testing. Will know more after Texas think they will split Texas teams into two or three. Louisiana roads have complicated interchanges lots of custom bridges, and assets to make.

I want to know too but small states won't support a large team unless they start bundling 2 small states.

I think the best thing we can get
spring 2022 - Texas . summer 2022 - Montana . autumn 2022 - Oklahoma.
spring/summer 2023 - Kansas / Nebraska (pack or separately). autumn/winter 2023 - Arkansas / Louisiana (pack or separately).

spring 2024 -South Dakota . summer 2024 -Missouri .autumn 2024 - Mississippi
but it will still be very slow, to get only 60% of the USA by 2025
I hope the SCS will speed up and we will start get big packs or separately(it doesn't matter) from 2023

spring 2024 -pack South Dakota North Dakota . summer 2024 - pack Missouri Iowa. autumn 2024 - pack Mississippi Alabama
and I think in any case in 2025 we will get Florida, and the East Coast, as Paul dreamed))

spring 2025 -pack Minnesota Wisconsin. summer 2025 - pack Illinois Indiana. autumn 2025 - pack Georgia Florida :o
spring 2026 -pack Michigan :D Ohio. summer 2026 - pack Kentucky Tennessee. autumn 2026 - pack South Carolina North Carolina

yes, by the 10th anniversary, after 10 years ATS, then we will get almost all USA ( 90%) I very very hope for this.
I also really hope that Oregon Washington does not look very outdated by that time

Texas and Montana so close together can't happen. To get Oklahoma, we need the Texas team to split up. We don't have anyone to make Oklahoma right now. The Wyoming team went to Montana more than likely and they can't finish that in 12 months. Montana is too big for just 10 people for a Summer 2022 release.

Then we need half the team from Texas to go help Montana in order for it to release late 2022. The other portion of Texas goes to Oklahoma perhaps, slim chance to go to Louisiana. 2-3 might even go to the rebuild team.
