Re: Poll: Choose (2) States you would like to see next
Yesss, I was looking at MN-61. The downside............there is no where to go for trucks in the US beyond Grand Marais. Grand Portage has a very small chance for SCS adding. Honestly I give it a 5% chance to make the map. Now ProMods Canada on the other hand, they can pick up in Grand Marais. It will be awhile before SCS does to get to Thunder Bay. I think even though SCS will do Canada, I honestly think more people will stick to the ProMods version of Canada. I expect ProMods to just update their mod, using SCS assets. Orrrr if SCS does a great job, ProMods will use SCS's model and tweak it to their liking.
One place I'd like to see make it in Minnesota is Fort Frances. US-53 from Duluth gets us there. Its right on the border of Canada and if SCS models that border, ProMods can take over on the other side. That entire area looks industrial though. But the biggest reason to add that is the huge logging yard that is there and PCA (paper company). Branch out on US-71 for Menards, Super One Foods and perhaps the Waschke GM car dealer off US-53 and that sets up that small town with depots. Fort Frances and Warroad are probably the Northernmost most cities we can get in Minnesota that could work for ATS.
I see both US-75 and US-59 in the far Northwest corner of Minnesota. Both those roads can get you there from Texas actually. US-75 starts in Dallas and US-59 from Laredo. Now there might be some of us that are crazy enough to make that trip without Interstates, but hey if the option is there, why not go for a scenic route from start to end. That would take 3 times as long but hey, if you're bored one day, I'm game, lol.

MN 61 up to Grand Marais will be a must for Minnesota. It's the most scenic road in the state, and I can see it being a big selling point. And not only is there lumber up near Grand Marais, but there's also some industry up the shore, at the massive iron ore processing plant and port in Silver Bay and the power plant in Taconite Harbor.
Fort Frances is on the Ontario side of the Rainy, by the way. On the Minnesota side is International Falls, which is essential. But imagine if Fort Frances was included with it, making it an international city? That and El Paso/Juarez, Laredo/Nuevo Laredo, and McAllen/Reynosa would be nice new additions, and with them could come San Diego/Tijuana, El Centro/Mexicali, and the Mexican Nogales.

Ahh, my bad. Yes International Falls is what I meant. I thought International Falls was a company, lol. That's an odd name for a city. But as I zoom in to Google Maps, I see now. No Fort Frances for MN, that will be a ProMods city. The lumber yard and paper plant is in MN. Fort Frances looks like it has goodies of its own. Starting with the bridge to cross. I expect that bridge and actually Fort Frances to be modeled though if we get International Falls. Its just wayyyyy to close to not make models for it. ProMods can tweak the models or SCS can just make a functional model to begin with. After all, if ProMods is going to connect to Minnesota, they will help boost sales for the dlc. So just do it right the right time instead of cutting corners.
If SCS makes the paper plant, might as well do the bridge and the damn that connects the two countries. Now if there is no truck cross here, then never mind. But I do see a crossing for miles.

Willmar is big on turkey and chicken processing plant and farms good place for scrapyards. Also, farming like hobby farms, solar gardens are big here, along with dairy farm, chicken farm, but also wind farms as well. Its good these can be spread evenly around the map along with local gas stations selling E-85 ethanol, ethanol plants.
US-59 and US-71 could run these up and down the state with small towns spaced along with county roads lots of options for the entire midwest lol.

in ETS2 i am taking a break from ATS and in ATS i am taking a break from ETS2 )
I think all true truck fans must have both this SCS games.
in each game own atmosphere and mood.
yep, west USA have more different territory, they are located at latitude like Spain Italy or Turkey.
Germany Russia France more north than USA, like Canada and have many trees the same.
but even that, every country in Europe have own atmosphere and mood too.Germany own ,Russia own, France own ,Romania own ,Poland own and etc. let nature be similar but country spirit is felt different. I don't know how SCS does it ) they are magicians)
that's too why so many love ETS2 more than ATS with one country wich atmosphere and mood only USA ) (soon Promods release Canada and ATS will become even cooler ) but I love more ATS for that atmosphere - I very love drive down the highway to country music ) in ETS2 you won't feel this )

@angrybirdseller Willmar is an absolute must for MN. US-12, US-71, and US-71 Business make a perfect little diamond shape for the city itself, plus we can have farms / processing plants in the area that are assigned to Willmar.
@AlexxxF1 I feel the same way. When I am tired of ETS2, I move to ATS, and vice versa, and by the time I am done with the one game I'm ready to go back to the other one. There are a lot of people here particularly on the ETS2 "side" of the forums who refuse to play ATS and I have no idea why. You get ~1.5 times the content of ETS2 if you own both and when one game is having a content drought you can be excited for the content that comes to the other one.

Re: Poll: Choose (2) States you would like to see next
^Exactly. Both games don't get content at the same time always. Now on updates that's a different story. SCS tries to provide new features or what not for both on each update. What one gets, the other gets typically. If not, the other game will follow later. ETS2 is a larger map so most things take more time to implement there and people don't get it. Random events, detours as and example. In due time, ATS will swell in size. Especially after Texas. By the time ATS gets to the Mississippi whether box or stair stepped, I think we'll see a definite rise in players. 1) ProMods will be further along to pull more players in and 2) SCS assets and new ICCs will be in place. More variety across the board in trucks and content in general will be in place. The Midwest and the East is closer to what most ETS2 fans may be use to. Compact cities and lots of green everywhere.
As SCS sweeps across the US, more eyes will be on ATS because there is not enough evidence to determine what all there is to come to ATS right now. We need a lot more real estate to convince masses of people apparently. All desert here, I don't think so. Boring, I don't think so. No variety in trucks, companies and industry...........that's far from the truth. Why the resistance will always be an excuse to me honestly. There are several on here that were resisting ATS in the beginning and now that they gave it a chance, they love it. I try to refrain from saying which game is better but I can say that both are different and its their differences that make both of them great in their own regards. Both offer something the other doesn't. So yes, when you tire of one, you have to other installed. I make sure I have all the latest dlcs to make sure that no matter which game I play, I am updated.

@AlexxxF1 -switch ETS2 and ATS just for different pace and feel. Play ETS2 many years before, and Baltic and Scandinavia DLC are my favorites as time goes on like short drives, but also the feel going up north. Sweden has few tolls and Norway is different from the rest of the map.
I avoid oldest German parts, but some parts of old ETS2 map are great.

Re: Poll: Choose (2) States you would like to see next
When Benelux gets a revamp someday, we'll be able to completely avoid the non-revamped base map by going France -> Belgium -> Netherlands -> Germany -> Denmark to Scandinavia or Travemunde to Baltics / Road to Moscow, and France -> Italy -> Western Balkans.
ATS starting in California might not have let them be as flexible as starting in Texas would have, but it is really easy to avoid the base map if you want to especially with Utah, Idaho, and Colorado connecting New Mexico directly to the Pacific Northwest. Plus the ATS base map is miles better than the ETS2 base map.
