Poll: Choose (2) States you would like to see next
Re: Poll: Choose the States you would like to see next
@ads678 I think there is a weigh station info sign designed specifically for Idaho! But I didn't checkout completely the editor! Maybe there are some other assets too
Re: Poll: Choose the States you would like to see next
Flight50, There are several examples of illogical decisions like releasing New Mexico instead of Utah/Oregon or RttBS instead of Western Balkans. So knowing SCS I wouldn't be surprised if Idaho won't be the next.
But I hope it will be Idaho & Colorado in 2020.

Surely it will.
Some few assets from Idaho and Colorado started to appear in editor for 1.36, thats a good hint of whats coming next.

Re: Poll: Choose the States you would like to see next
As I think about it more, I'm all for boxing the map more completely and have voted accordingly but if they did Idaho and Colorado next year I wouldn't be disappointed to see Texas after that. Texas is going to be so much fun I'm kind of eager to get to it. I guess we'll all see what the new year brings. Come on Utah!
Re: Poll: Choose the States you would like to see next
Yeah, Texas makes sense before Wyoming and Montana from a business stand point. Honestly I wouldn't be upset nor surprised if SCS sneaks it in at the same time Montana and Wyoming if they truly will box up the map. If we get both Idaho and Colorado for 2020, I am confident that any new people that come to the ATS map team between now and the end of next year, I think they will be properly trained to be able to form a complete 3rd map team. Without a complete and sizable 3rd map team, I just don't see it being wise to tackle Texas full production if they want to stick 2 states a year. Texas easily demands 2 map team alone. If they started Texas today, we will not get a second map for next year.
Whether we get Wyoming, Montana and Texas for 2021 or Texas and either Wyoming or Montana for 2021, we get what we get. I'd just hate to see Texas before Idaho and Colorado. But if Texas does make it for 2021, I think it makes more sense for Wyoming and Texas rather than Texas and Montana. The later of the two would create an odd game. Although Northern Idaho is depended on Montana, we can use Sourthern Idaho to access Wyoming. After 2020, the Idaho team can jump to Wyoming and the Colorado team goes to join whatever team is already on Texas to make it 2 teams there in Texas. Pavel stated he'd put 25 on Texas if he can. Perhaps SCS won't start 3 state map releases until after Texas is done. I am penciling in 2022 for the start of 3 a year if that's their mindset.

My post are only thoughts and ideas. Don't assume it makes ATS.

I saw CO and ID assets in map editor in 1.36 for 2020 Colorado and Idaho seemed next map dlc for 2020. Idaho will be nice to link Tremonton UT to Ontario OR with I-84 it will save time going to New Mexico destinations.

Hey everyone!
I vote for Idaho and Texas, although I'd be okay with either Colorado or Texas as the next new state after Idaho.
But what I *really* want for the next "new states", is a completely rebuilt, burnt down to the ground and started from scratch, California and Nevada. Parts of Arizona could really use a facelift as well, and IMO some of the cities in AZ need to be re-arranged. With Oregon, Washington, and soon Utah in place and looking the way they do, it just makes the original base map look awful. I'd really, really like for SCS' map teams to focus on completely reconstructing CA and NV and bringing them up to OR/WA/UT quality before moving on to Colorado or Texas.

I'm looking forward to Colorado. The mix of mountainous terrain and flat plains make it such a beautiful state. Plus its nice to see (virtually) what the western end of I-70 looks like since I live about 10 mins away from the eastern end. Over here the end is just a park & ride. Boooooo lol.

Drop them a few hundred thousand dollars and they may consider it. There's no money to be made in this, so they aren't going to spend a year redoing old parts of the map.Onagerlinn wrote: ↑28 Oct 2019 04:38But what I *really* want for the next "new states", is a completely rebuilt, burnt down to the ground and started from scratch, California and Nevada. I imagine that like ETS2 they'll slowly rebuild the old states to bring them up to current standards.
