Poll: Choose (2) States you would like to see next
Re: Poll: Choose (2) States you would like to see next
Utah would have been a much more logical option than OR to model in 2018, in regards to the L shape map mention.
Did these whingers not know that much of western US is desert? Pity about the desert haters and their influence.

I think that part of the reason for SCS going forward with Oregon was due to the excitement amongst the playerbase to have a more "green set of scenery", and it might have given a bit more momentum to ATS back in 2017/2018. Of course I do think that this was more so ignorance, coming from those players who believed that they knew all about the Pacific Northwest, and yet thought that its a good representation of the entirety of the state of Oregon. We didn't really get lots of "green" until Washington and Idaho released.
Utah would have been really nice to release earlier on, but at the end of the day we're passed that now. Oregon is actually one of my least visited states in-game, some areas of the state are nice whereas some are just "meh". Still a lot better than New Mexico though.

If I remember Oregon was released as Paccar wanted Washington in game so the Kenworth plant could be featured.

Well Washington was going to be released no matter what. Even then, it was logical to finish the West Coast before moving eastward.Larry71490 wrote: ↑17 Jan 2021 02:09If I remember Oregon was released as Paccar wanted Washington in game so the Kenworth plant could be featured.

@IamTheOne I agree 100% was the best move but Paccar in a way had a say in it too.

Illinios there alot highways far more than Washington and Colorado combined and Chicago alots of tollsways and freeways.
The markings of roads will need to be redone with tollways with Chicago.
Midwest states all of them more numerous large and midsize cities along with more highways.
Chicago where I-90 and I-80 and with I-94 then I-55 and I-57 meet.
Most regions will sell for $11.99, and majority of states can be released in Colorado size bundles of 12-16 in game cities and 3000-5000 in game road miles.
It will be easier to little more density further east less mountains to deal with.

@angrybirdseller Outside of Chicago, Illinois will be a piece of cake for SCS. A few midsize cities, pretty straightforward road network, and flat as a pancake. And, by the time SCS gets to Illinois, they will be well versed in building megacities, so Chicago shouldn't be terribly difficult.

Actually, there rivers and ravines along with foilage you want in map to give variety. Also, there cities themselves have to model Illinois has plenty from Rockford to Joliet along with East St Louis.
Cities part wont get easier. The terrain and foilage is different southern third of the state verse northern third.
Chicago will be most complex city outside Dallas-Ft Worth and I-90 and along with I-94 are built at unsual angle and custom prefabs will be necessary to give it correct feel.
Midwest is not flat Wisconsin is very hilly lots of rivers and lakes. Iowa is very hilly western parts of state and rivers bends. Illinios there are parts with hills and fiolage to provide variety of scenery.
The flat pancake is Florida of any place on the map.

I've always thought the unique road markings on the Illinois Tollway network were very cool! I really do hope that SCS is able to make them once ATS gets to Illinois!angrybirdseller wrote: ↑19 Jan 2021 06:15The markings of roads will need to be redone with tollways with Chicago.

Illinois could be easy but once they get chicago it's going to be dense and it could take then a while but let's see how things could go because Wyoming and Texas have been announced but Wyoming could be the only DLC since Texas is massive
Take it with a grain of salt nothing is 100% sure
