Mandelsoft, you have Nm and Az out of place. I should look like this.

@flight50 I think Mandelsoft placed the states in a more "confortable" way to help people realize the comparison more clearly

In a way we only have to mentally reorganize the minimum as possible on our minds to understand

Its just demonstrating the size of each state compared to a European country, you're supposed to move them around and see how big the individual states are they are. ;) It doesn't have to be perfect.

@SimulatorSam. I know that. That is why the maps provided are close enough. Bring Texas into the mix to compare to the overlay I did is fairly close and not enough of a drastic change to warrant inaccuracy.

Neat website but weird at the same time. If you move the states or countries up or down, they scale as well. Me personally, I don't see it.

Yeah Mandelsofts positioning is more to cover the current map area of ETS2

Doesn't the UK use a different scale, as well?

What do you mean? You don't see what? That's to compensate for Mercator projection, in which northern areas look bigger than they are.

Yep, that is the whole point of this website. To scale the size properly and give accurate visual size comparison.

If you had clicked the "About" link in top left you would see a simple explanation.

@Lombra and Gazer75. I am not stupid. I completely comprehend exactly what the website is doing. It doesn't mean I have to completely agree with it. I said exactly what I said because I am not a person that is easily convinced just because the internet says so. Man made that site and man makes errors. Who's to say man was 100% accurate in his scaling prediction. Believing everything one sees on the internet can be deceiving. If you take any of those states far far north, the state nearly triples in size. If you think that is realistic, go ahead and think so. I am not calling either of you all out for that is your opinion. The maps I photoshopped, I don't see it being that much different than that webpage. We typically see flat maps so that is what I used. Not many people go out there way to reference Mercator scaling. Most never even heard of it. I placed the overlay of Texas over France as the best reference I knew of. Doing so with that site didn't get much of a difference if any at all so the scaling in my opinion didn't have much effect. The purpose is to get an idea of scale. Not 100% accuracy, gesh.

So if you two want to call me out for an opinion of mine, so be it. But I won't entertain the argument to be civil. I am sure if Wikipedia said the world was actually flat people would believe that too.
